So, the other day, I was thinking, “What’s up with all these faith-based TV series popping up?” It got me curious, you know? So, I started digging around.

First, I hit up the usual spots – Google, a couple of forums, you name it. I was just trying to get a feel for what’s out there. And man, there’s a lot! I mean, you got your dramas, your comedies, even some reality stuff, all with that faith angle.
Then, I started watching a few. I started with “The Chosen” because, well, everyone’s talking about it. And I gotta say, it’s pretty good! It’s like, they took the Bible stories and made them, I don’t know, relatable? It definitely got me hooked.
- Watched a bunch of episodes of “The Chosen.”
- Checked out some other shows mentioned online, like some documentaries and stuff.
- Started thinking about why these shows are so popular now.
After that, I went down a bit of a rabbit hole. I started reading articles about the whole faith-based entertainment industry. It’s bigger than I thought! One article was even saying how the industry has “failed culturally” I think. I don’t know about that, but it was an interesting read.
And what was interesting, I found that they said, “84% of the global population identifies with a religious group.” Man, that’s a lot of people! It makes sense that there’d be a demand for shows that speak to that, right?
But, I started to think, it’s not just about the religious stuff. I mean, these shows gotta be entertaining, too, right? It seems like people want stories with hope and meaning, no matter what they believe. And these shows, they’re trying to do that. They’re tackling big questions, life, purpose, all that jazz, through these stories.
My conclusion?
I realized that these faith-based series, they’re not just for one type of person. They’re for anyone looking for something a little different, something with, I guess, more heart? It’s cool to see shows that aren’t afraid to talk about faith and values. And hey, if they’re well-made and entertaining, why not, right? Anyway, that’s my two cents on the whole faith-based TV series thing. It’s definitely a scene that’s growing, and I’m kinda interested to see where it goes next.
