Okay, so, I decided to check out this place in Austin – the Real World house. You know, that place from the MTV show? Yeah, that one. I had heard some stuff about it, like how this guy Joel Mozersky did the whole interior design thing in just a week. Sounds crazy, right? Anyway, I went down to 301 San Jacinto Boulevard, where this big warehouse is supposed to be.

First off, finding the place was a bit of a walk around. I had read somewhere that it was on the west half of some 23,552-square-foot warehouse, which is huge, by the way. Once I got there, the building looked pretty normal from the outside, nothing too flashy. But I was curious about what was going on inside now, since the show ended ages ago.
I walked around the block, trying to imagine all those cameras and the cast living there. I mean, this was back in the day, like 15 seasons or something. Must have been pretty wild with all that drama happening under one roof. It was kind of quiet when I went, though. Just a regular day in downtown Austin, with people walking by, some traffic, nothing out of the ordinary.
- The warehouse takes up a good chunk of the block.
- It’s in a pretty busy part of downtown, close to East 3rd Street.
- Didn’t see any signs of it being the Real World house, just looked like any other building.
Observations:
I didn’t go inside because, well, it’s not exactly open to the public like a museum or anything. But standing there, I couldn’t help but think about all the stories that place must hold. I saw a few pictures online before I went, showing the inside during the show, and it looked pretty cool. I guess they really transformed the place for the filming.
So, that was pretty much my little adventure to the Real World Austin house. It was more of a laid-back walk around than some big event. But hey, it was cool to see where it all went down back in the day. Makes you wonder what the place is used for now, huh? I guess some things are just left to the imagination.
