That Miami Vice, oh boy, that show, it’s got some good ones, ain’t it? Gotta pick the best, huh? Well, let me tell ya, it ain’t easy pickin’ just a few. They’re all like my grandkids, ya know, love ’em all, but some just shine a little brighter some days.

Now, folks talk about that one, “Out Where the Buses Don’t Run.” Yeah, that’s a good one, I reckon. Crockett and Tubbs, they’re somethin’ else. They get mixed up with some old cop, might be a little cuckoo, but he thinks he’s onto a big shot. Drugs, ya know, it’s always drugs. That Miami, it’s full of that stuff, I hear.
And that music, oh, that music in that show! Makes ya wanna get up and dance, even with these old bones. They play that one song, “In the Air Tonight,” when they’re drivin’ around. Gets ya right here, in the ticker. That was back in the eighties, the good times and bad times, you know. They show all them places, Ocean Drive, that causeway, all them pretty places, even if they are full of trouble.
- That Smuggler’s Blues one, that’s a good one too.
- Then there’s No Exit, that kept me on the edge of my seat, I tell ya!
- One Eyed Jack, oh, that was a wild one.
They made that show right there in Miami, they say. Cost a lot of money, too. More money than I’ve ever seen, that’s for sure. Millions, they say! Can you imagine? All that money just for a TV show. But it was good, I gotta admit. Showed off Miami, that’s for sure, all the water and the buildings.
Some of them other episodes, they blur together a bit, ya know? But there’s one, “The Great McCarthy,” that one sticks out. And “Heart of Darkness,” that was a scary one. Not for the faint of heart, that one. I watched them all, you know. I was a fan of Miami Vice back in the day.
- Brother’s Keeper, that’s another good one.
- Calderon’s Return, remember that one?
- And don’t forget about Freefall, the last one ever.
And they say, the folks on the internet, they got all them lists, best Miami Vice episode, worst Miami Vice episode, all that. They even say what the last one was. I watched them all, honey. Every single last one of ’em. That Crockett, he tried to get into the head of some bad guy once. That was a weird one. Didn’t like that one so much. Made my skin crawl.
You want some more? How about “Hostile Takeover,” and “Redemption in Blood.” Or “Bad Timing”? There was one called “Jack of All Trades.” And don’t forget “Over the Line.” Another good one is “Leap of Faith.”

Back then, we didn’t have all this fancy stuff, just the TV and that was it. We’d all gather ’round and watch Miami Vice. It was a big deal. Everyone talked about it. Who shot who, who was sellin’ what, all that. Simpler times, ya know? But not always better. Lots of bad stuff happened back then, too.
Best episodes of Miami Vice, huh? Well, they’re all good in their own way. But those ones I mentioned, they stick out. They got action, they got drama, they got that music. And they got Crockett and Tubbs. Can’t forget about them. They were the best part of the whole darn thing. They don’t make shows like that anymore, I tell ya. They just don’t. Everything is too fast, too loud, too much these days. That Miami Vice, that was somethin’ special. It was popular back then. Everyone was talking about it. I still remember the main actors.
They got all them fancy websites now, with all the information you could ever want. Back in my day, we just had the TV Guide and word of mouth. But if you wanna know about Miami Vice, just look it up on that internet. It’s all there. Every little thing you could ever wanna know. It’s a crazy world we live in, ain’t it? I think so. But I still like to watch TV.
