Well, so you wanna know about shows like Gold Rush, huh? My old eyes ain’t what they used to be, but I sure do love watchin’ them shows about folks diggin’ for gold. Gets me all riled up, makes me wanna grab a shovel and head out to the creek myself!
Gold Rush, That’s the One
That Gold Rush, that’s the big one, ain’t it? Followin’ them fellas around, seein’ all that heavy machinery movin’ dirt. It’s somethin’ else, I tell ya. They got all them fancy words for what they do, prospectin’ and sluicin’ and whatnot. Me, I just call it diggin’. But they sure do make it look excitin’, even when they ain’t findin’ much.
Sometimes they get lucky, though. Find them big nuggets, makes you wanna jump through the screen and snatch ’em up yourself! Heard them fellas on that show, they make good money. Ten thousand, maybe even twenty-five thousand dollars! Just for one show! Can you imagine that? Back in my day, we was lucky to get a dollar for a whole day’s work.
Other Shows, Kinda Like It
But that ain’t the only show about diggin’ for gold, no sir. There’s others, kinda like it. I seen one where they go to all these different places, lookin’ for gold in the jungle and whatnot.
- Parker’s Trail. That’s one show.
- Freddy and Juan, they got a show too. Somethin’ about a mine rescue.
That Parker, he’s a young fella, but he sure knows his stuff. He’s been doin’ this since he was knee-high to a grasshopper. He’s the best there is, I think so anyway. And them other fellas, Freddy and Juan, they help people whose mines ain’t doin’ so good. They are good people. I like them. Those are some good shows like Gold Rush, if you ask me.
Winter’s Gold, That’s Another One
Then there’s another one, called Gold Rush: Winter’s Fortune. That’s a mouthful, ain’t it? They show what them gold miners do when it ain’t gold minin’ season. They gotta keep busy somehow, I reckon. They go scoutin’ for new places to dig, lookin’ for that gold. That Tony Beets, he’s in that one, and that Rick Ness, and Dave Turin. They’re all tryin’ to find the best spot to get rich.
All these fellas, Dustin Hurt, Fred Lewis, they all tryin’ to get that gold. It’s hard work, I tell ya. But they keep at it, day in and day out. Makes me tired just watchin’ ’em sometimes!
Why Folks Like These Shows
I reckon folks like these shows ’cause it’s excitin’ to see people chasin’ their dreams. And everybody dreams of gettin’ rich, don’t they? It’s like a treasure hunt, and who don’t love a good treasure hunt? Plus, you get to see all them big machines, and learn a little somethin’ about how gold minin’ works.
These shows like Gold Rush, they all show how people work hard. It ain’t easy, no sir. You gotta be tough, and you gotta be smart. And you gotta have a little bit of luck on your side, too. But if you got all that, maybe, just maybe, you can strike it rich.
More Shows Out There
I heard there’s even more shows out there, about other kinds of diggin’. Some folks dig for gems, some dig for old stuff buried in the ground. There is also some similar TV shows like Gold Rush, I heard they are popular on Netflix, iTunes and Amazon. It is all kinda the same, I reckon. People lookin’ for somethin’ valuable, hopin’ to make a better life for themselves.
So, if you like that Gold Rush show, you’ll probably like these other ones, too. They’re all cut from the same cloth, as they say. Just a bunch of folks, workin’ hard, tryin’ to make their dreams come true. And who knows, maybe watchin’ ’em will inspire you to go out there and chase your own dreams, whatever they may be.
