Hey everyone, today I’m gonna share my experience of ranking my top 30 episodes of “30 Rock”. I’ve been a huge fan of this show for years, and it’s one of those series that I keep coming back to time and time again. With so many great episodes, it was definitely a challenge to narrow it down, but I managed to do it, and I’m excited to share my process and the final list with you all.

Getting Started
First off, I re-watched the entire series. Yeah, all seven seasons! It was a blast from the past, and I caught a bunch of jokes and references that I’d missed the first time around. As I watched, I jotted down notes on each episode, highlighting the ones that really stood out to me. You know, the ones that made me laugh out loud, or had some memorable quotes, or just had a really clever plot.
Narrowing It Down
After the re-watch, I had a pretty long list of potential top episodes. It was tough, but I started to whittle it down based on a few criteria. I asked myself: How much did this episode make me laugh? How memorable were the lines? Did it have any great character moments? And of course, did it showcase the unique, quirky humor that “30 Rock” is known for?
Ranking the Episodes
With my criteria in mind, I started to rank the episodes. It wasn’t easy, and I found myself switching the order around multiple times. I mean, how do you compare “Sandwich Day” to “Mazel Tov Dummies”? They’re both hilarious, but in different ways.

- “Sandwich Day” – This one’s a classic. Liz Lemon’s love for sandwiches is just so relatable.
- “Mazel Tov Dummies” – The whole fake wedding storyline is pure gold, and the one-liners are top-notch.
- “The Tuxedo Begins” – A great parody of “The Dark Knight Rises”, and Tracy Jordan’s antics are always a highlight.
Considering the Seasons
I also paid attention to which seasons the episodes were from. It’s interesting to see how the show evolved over time. Season two, for example, was cut short due to the writers’ strike, but it still delivered some gems. And the later seasons, while maybe not as consistently strong, still had their moments of brilliance.
The Final List
After a lot of deliberation, I finally settled on my top 30. It wasn’t easy, and I’m sure some of you will disagree with my choices, but that’s part of the fun! I tried to include a good mix of episodes from different seasons, featuring various characters and storylines.
A Few Highlights
- “West Coast Version: Live Broadcast” – Kenneth’s desperate attempts to keep TGS live are both hilarious and strangely endearing.
- “Hey, Baby What’s Wrong” – This one’s just packed with quotable lines, and who can forget Liz’s attempts to be more “relatable”?
Wrapping Up
So there you have it, my journey to ranking the top 30 episodes of “30 Rock”. It was a fun trip down memory lane, and I hope you enjoyed hearing about it. “30 Rock” is a show that’s given us so much – from the concept of night cheese to countless quotable lines.
