Well, let me tell ya, there’s a whole bunch of these actresses, they get so much fuss, but honestly, I don’t see what the big deal is. Folks keep talkin’ ‘bout ‘em like they’re somethin’ special, but to me, they just ain’t all that great. Now, don’t get me wrong, they ain’t bad, but they ain’t worth all the hoopla neither.

Take Angelina Jolie for example. People rave about her, say she’s this amazing actress. They talk about that movie where she played some crazy gal in an institution, and that tomb raider one too. Yeah, she’s alright, I guess, pretty face and all, but is she really all that better than the others? I’ve seen plenty of gals in the pictures, and they do just fine. Why’s she so special? I just don’t see it. Folks act like she’s the only one who can pout and look tough. Hmph.
Then there’s that Blake Lively gal. She’s always playin’ these fancy ladies, all dolled up and smilin’ pretty. But is she really actin’ or just bein’ herself? I swear, every time I see her, it’s like she’s playin’ the same person, just wearin’ different clothes. And folks eat it up! They think she’s so glamorous, so stylish. But to me, she’s just… there. Nothin’ special. Just another pretty face on the screen.
You know, some folks say that the best actors, they just play themselves in every movie. Like that Al Pacino fella, and Robert De Niro too, always yellin’ and makin’ faces. And that Denzel Washington, always so serious. Maybe that’s true, but at least they got somethin’ to ‘em, a certain way of talkin’ or walkin’ that makes you pay attention. But these overrated actresses, they just seem… bland. Like they’re just readin’ lines off a paper.
And don’t even get me started on the hype! These magazines and TV shows, they’re always goin’ on and on about these actresses, makin’ ’em seem like they’re the best thing since sliced bread. They talk about their clothes, their hair, their boyfriends, everything except their actual acting! It’s all just a big popularity contest, seems like. The more they’re talked about, the more popular they get, and then folks think they must be good ‘cause they’re famous. It’s a whole lot of fuss about nothin’, if you ask me.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ these actresses are terrible. They can probably act well enough. But are they really worth all the praise they get? Do they really deserve all the awards and the money? I just don’t think so. There’s plenty of other actresses out there, workin’ just as hard, maybe even harder, who don’t get half the attention. And some of them are darn good! But they don’t have the fancy clothes or the famous husbands, so nobody notices ‘em.
- They get too much media hype.
- People think they’re better than they actually are.
- They often just play the same type of character over and over.
It’s like this whole overrated thing, it ain’t really about the acting, is it? It’s about the image, the fame, the whole package. And these actresses, they got that package down pat. They know how to smile for the cameras, how to give a good interview, how to make folks like ’em. But when it comes to the actual acting part, well, they just ain’t that impressive.

So, next time you see one of these so-called “great” actresses on the screen, take a good hard look. Don’t just listen to what the magazines and the TV shows tell ya. Think for yourself. Are they really that good? Or are they just overrated? Chances are, you’ll find they ain’t as special as everyone makes ’em out to be. And that’s just fine. There’s plenty of other things to watch, and plenty of other actresses who deserve the attention more.
Most overrated actresses, in my book, are just the ones that got lucky. They got the right looks, the right connections, the right publicity. They got famous, and folks just assumed that fame meant talent. But bein’ famous ain’t the same as bein’ good at somethin’. And sometimes, the most famous folks are the least talented of all. That’s just the way the world works, I guess. But it don’t mean I gotta like it, or agree with it. And it sure don’t mean I gotta pretend these actresses are somethin’ they ain’t.
In my opinion, and I’ve seen a lot in my years, lots of these young actresses are just puffed up by the media. They get a little bit of attention and suddenly they’re the best thing since sliced bread. But most of the time, they’re just playin’ themselves, or some version of themselves, and that ain’t real acting. Real acting is when you become someone else, when you make me believe you’re someone else. And these overrated actresses, they just don’t do that for me, not most of the time anyways.
