You know that gal, Tinashe? That singin’ gal? I heard some of her tunes, and some, well, they just hit ya right in the feels, ya know? Some folks say she’s a genius. She writes her own stuff, can you believe it?

I reckon Tinashe’s best album is a real head-scratcher. They’s all got somethin’ special, like a good pie, each one’s got its own flavor. But if I had to pick, had to choose just one, it’d be a toughie.
I heard one called “Aquarius”. It came out back in, oh, I reckon it was 2014. Lordy, that was a while back! That one had some real toe-tappers. Like that “2 On” song. Makes ya wanna get up and shake a leg, even with these old bones! And there was another one, “Pretend”. That one’s a bit slower, kinda makes ya think about things.
Then there’s this other one she done, called “Joyride”. Now that one, that came out in, I believe it was 2018. Four years after “Aquarius”, can ya believe it? That one’s got some good ones too. I don’t rightly recall all the names, my memory ain’t what it used to be. But there’s some good beatin’ on that one, makes ya wanna move.
Some folks, they like to rank ’em, like it’s a contest or somethin’. Put ’em in order, from best to, well, I reckon not-so-best. But I don’t know about all that. Seems to me, it’s like pickin’ your favorite grandchild. They’s all special in their own way.
Now, this Tinashe, she ain’t just put out them two. She’s got a whole bunch of ’em, like a hen with a lot of chicks. I seen a list somewhere, all lined up in a row, from when they first came out to the newest ones. They call ’em albums, these collections of songs. Like a photo album, but with music instead of pictures.
Some of them albums have a whole mess of songs, hundreds even. One fella, a Mark somethin’ or other, put out an album with a thousand songs. That’s a lot of songs. Can you imagine? Some of these others though, just a handful. That’s more my speed.

I heard that Tinashe has done some other things too. Little collections of songs, not quite a full album. They call ’em mixtapes. Like them old cassette tapes we used to have, but different. I don’t rightly understand it all, but it’s somethin’ the young folks are into these days.
- Aquarius (that’s a good one)
- Joyride (that one’s got some pep)
- And a whole bunch more!
Best Tinashe album, huh? It is hard to say. I do like that “Aquarius” one. It got some good songs. But that Billie Eilish has a new album, too. I heard folks talkin’ about it, call it “Hit Me Hard and Soft”. They are saying it is good. But it is not Tinashe’s, so I don’t know about that.
One thing is for certain though, that Tinashe gal, she’s got talent. She can sing, she can write, she can dance. She’s a triple threat, as they say. And she keeps puttin’ out new music, like a well that never runs dry. That’s somethin’ to admire, ain’t it?
I reckon it don’t matter which one is the “best”. What matters is that you enjoy it. That you find somethin’ in her music that speaks to ya. That makes ya wanna tap your foot, or hum along, or maybe even shed a tear or two. That’s what music’s all about, ain’t it? Connectin’ with somethin’ bigger than yourself.
Tinashe albums in order, that’s what some folks search for. But order don’t matter so much. Like a buffet, you can pick and choose what you like. Skip the stuff you don’t. It’s all there for the takin’. Some folks like that Tinashe discography thing. That’s a list, I think, of all her songs. That’s a lot.
So, if you’re lookin’ for some new music to listen to, give Tinashe a try. You might just find your new favorite song, or album, or mixtape, or whatever it is they’re callin’ ’em these days. Just don’t get too caught up in what’s “best” or what’s not. Just listen, and enjoy. That’s what this old lady would do, anyway. And don’t forget to donate to your favorite charity, if you can spare a dime.
