Well, howdy there, y’all! Today, we’re gonna jaw about somethin’ kinda peculiar – songs with the word “word” right there in the title. Don’t ask me why, just figured it might tickle your fancy, same as it did mine. Now, I ain’t no fancy music expert or nothin’, but I know a good tune when I hear one, and if it’s got “word” in the name, well, that’s just a bonus, ain’t it?

First off, lemme tell ya, there’s a whole heap of ’em. More than you can shake a stick at, that’s for sure. Seems like them song folks like that word “word” somethin’ fierce. Now, I ain’t gonna sit here and list every single one, ’cause frankly, I ain’t got all day, and neither do you. But I’ll tell ya ’bout some of the ones that stuck in my old noggin.
One of the big ones, real popular-like, is that song “More Than Words” by a band called Extreme. Heard it on the radio a bunch of times. It’s a slow one, kinda sappy, but the fellas sing it purty. It’s all about how you gotta show, not just say, how you feel. Kinda like bakin’ a pie instead of just sayin’ you love someone, you know? Actions speak louder than words, that’s what my old pappy used to say.
Then there’s another one, just plain ol’ “Words” by the Bee Gees. Now, them Bee Gees boys, they could sing! High voices, but real nice. This song’s about how words can hurt or heal, build you up or tear you down. It’s true, you know? Gotta be careful what comes outta your mouth, ’cause once them words are out there, you can’t take ’em back. Like spilled milk, it is.

Now, I ain’t sure if these songs are the “best” or whatever, but they’re the ones I remember. There’s probably a whole bunch more out there, different kinds of music too. Rock and roll, country, that hip-hop stuff the young’uns listen to… I reckon every kinda music got a “word” song somewhere.
And speakin’ of words, it’s funny how a single word can mean so much. You can put ’em together all sorts of ways and make somethin’ beautiful or somethin’ awful. Songwriters, they’re good at that. They take words and make ’em sing, make ’em tell a story, make ’em touch your heart. It’s a gift, I tell ya.
Sometimes I hear a song on the radio, and I know a few of the words, but I can’t for the life of me remember the name of the song or who sings it. Drives me batty, it does! You ever get that way? It’s like it’s right there on the tip of your tongue, but you just can’t quite grab it. Frustratin’ as all get-out!

I ain’t sure why I started thinkin’ ’bout all this “word” in the title business. Maybe I heard one on the radio, maybe it just popped into my head outta nowhere. My mind works in mysterious ways sometimes, like a stray dog wanderin’ down a dirt road. But I figured, hey, it’s somethin’ to talk about, ain’t it? And who knows, maybe you learned somethin’ new today. Or maybe you just wasted a few minutes listenin’ to an old woman ramble. Either way, I appreciate you stoppin’ by.
So next time you’re listenin’ to the radio, or lookin’ through your old records, or whatever it is you young folks do these days, keep an ear out for them songs with “word” in the title. You might be surprised how many there are. And if you find a good one, let me know. I’m always up for hearing a good tune. After all, what’s life without a little music and a few good words, right? It’s important to appreciate music and the power of words.
And that’s all I gotta say ’bout that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my biscuits. Don’t want ’em burnin’, you know. You have yourself a good day, ya hear?
