Well, let me tell ya, there’s this fella by the name of George Clinton, and he’s been through quite a bit in his life. Now, you mighta heard of him, he’s a big name in the music world, a funk legend they call him. Well, back in 1990, George got hitched to a woman named Stephanie Lynn Clinton. They were married for a long time, over 20 years, I reckon, but like many things in life, things changed.

Now, after 22 years of being together, in 2013, George Clinton, outta nowhere it seems, filed for a divorce from Stephanie. You know, sometimes folks just drift apart, or maybe things just don’t work out the way you thought. Folks talk about it here and there, but it’s none of my business. But I reckon it couldn’t have been easy for either of ‘em, especially after being together for so long.
But life moves on, don’t it? Just a few years after that, in 2010, something real sad happened. George’s son, George Clinton Jr., passed away at the age of 50. He was found dead in his home down in Florida. A hard thing for a father to go through, losing your child. Ain’t no words to ease that kind of hurt. The police didn’t say much about it, just that it was a tough time for the Clinton family.
Now, let’s talk about how George kept movin’ forward. After the divorce from Stephanie, he didn’t stay alone for long. He remarried a lady named Carlon Thompson-Clinton, his manager for over ten years. I reckon Carlon knows George pretty well after all that time working together. Seems like they’ve found a way to make things work, and that’s good for them.
Through all these ups and downs in his life, George Clinton kept his head high. He’s a man who’s seen a lot, and sometimes, that’s just how life goes. You take the good with the bad, and you keep moving forward, no matter what comes your way.
Folks around here still talk about George and his music. He brought a lot of funk to the world, and that’s somethin’ no one can take away from him. His music changed a lot of lives, and his story, well, it’s still being written, even though there’s been plenty of heartache along the way. But life goes on, don’t it?
So, if you’re ever down and out, think about George Clinton. He’s had his share of troubles, but he keeps pushing through. And if he can do it, so can you. We all got a little funk in us, and sometimes that’s just what we need to keep going.
