Well, let me tell you, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout songs with light in the title. Got me thinkin’ ’bout all them songs I used to hear on the radio. There’s a whole bunch of ’em, you know. Some old, some new, make you wanna tap your feet or maybe shed a tear or two. Some folks will give you the best songs of all time, but they are not for me. I like the simple ones.
That “Light My Fire” one, that’s a real toe-tapper. Heard it a million times. It’s one of them songs with light in the title that just sticks in your head. You can’t help but sing along, even if you don’t know all the words. It’s got that good beat, you know? Makes you wanna get up and dance around the kitchen. It’s an old one but still good.
And you know, there’s that “Here Comes the Sun” song, too. I always heard it from my neighbor’s house. That’s a pretty one. Always makes me think of spring and flowers bloomin’. It’s a happy song, that one. It’s like, even when things are bad, the sun’s still gonna come up. Makes you feel like everything’s gonna be alright.
Then there’s that other one, “Singin’ in the Rain.” I always liked that song. That Gene Kelly, he was a good one. Even though it’s old, it just makes you feel good. It’s about findin’ joy in the little things, even when it’s rainin’ cats and dogs. That’s a good lesson, I reckon.
Nowadays, they got all them playlists. They call it “Light and Easy.” I heard they got lots of songs about light on there. You can listen to a whole bunch of ’em in a row. My grandkids, they always got their music playin’. They got them little things in their ears all the time. I don’t know how they hear anything else! But they like them songs with light in the title, too. Guess some things just don’t change.
There’s a song called “Blinded by the Light,” too. That’s a good one, kinda loud. It’s got that strong beat, makes you wanna move. It’s about being so amazed by somethin’ that you can’t even see straight. I guess that’s how love is, sometimes, right? Makes you all dizzy and confused.
- There’s also that “City of Blinding Lights.” That one’s a little newer, I think.
- Heard it on the radio a few times. It’s got that big sound, kinda like a church song, but not really.

I remember this other one, “The Light in Your Eyes.” Oh, that was a pretty one. Slow dance kinda song. It’s about seein’ the love in someone’s eyes. Makes you think about that special someone, you know? Makes your heart all warm and fuzzy inside. It’s a good one.
Let me see, what other songs with light in the title are there? There’s that “Eternal Light” song. That’s a sad one. Makes you think about people who ain’t with us anymore. But it’s also kinda hopeful, you know? Like they’re still watchin’ over us, from somewhere up above. It’s a good song to remember folks by.
Oh, and there is that “Guiding Light”. This one is like the one I heard at church. Makes you think about some kinda power guiding you on the road, even when times are dark. Make you feel less alone in this world. It’s like a light in the storm.
There are so many songs with light in the title. These are just the ones I thought of off the top of my head. Some folks like different things. But one thing’s for sure, them songs about light, they always make you feel somethin’. Whether it’s happy or sad, or hopeful or whatever. It’s because the light is a powerful thing, I reckon. You can light fire. You can have a bright day with sunshine. You can have light in your eyes when you are in love. It is a good thing.
I guess that’s why there are so many songs about it. You can find these songs in every place. Some people write about the light, and some sing about it. I don’t write songs, but I sure like listenin’ to ’em. There are light songs about love, light songs about loss, light songs about hope, light songs about everything, I guess. You can always find a light song that fits your mood.
If you’re feelin’ down, put on a happy light song. If you’re feelin’ happy, put on a sad light song. Just kidding! You listen to whatever kind of light song you want. Just don’t play it too loud, you hear? These old ears can’t take it anymore!
