Okay, so today I wanted to dive into something a little different – making a playlist of “songs about good memories.” I’ve been feeling all nostalgic lately, and music always helps me capture those feelings. So, I figured, why not build a playlist around that?

First, I brainstormed. I just sat down with a notebook and jotted down any songs that instantly made me think of happy times. It was a total mix – some oldies, some newer stuff, some I hadn’t heard in ages. I didn’t worry too much about whether they fit together, I just wanted to get the ideas flowing.
Then, I opened up my Spotify. I already, and I started a new playlist and titled it “Good Times Roll” – I’m not great with names, I’ll admit, but it felt right. I went through my brainstorm list and added everything that was available.
Next up, I started listening. This was the fun part! As I listened, I started to see how some songs fit together, and others… not so much. There were some that were more about heartbreak, even if I had good memories associated with them. Those, I decided to cut.
- “Song A” – Reminded me of high school graduation. Definitely a keeper.
- “Song B” – Made me think of summer road trips with friends. Added!
- “Song C” – Brought back a specific memory of a really great concert. Yep, in it goes.
- “Song D”- Reminded sad memories,so i removed.
After trimming the fat, I had a pretty solid list. But it still felt like it was missing something. So, I spent some time just browsing, looking at related artists, suggested songs, that kind of thing. I stumbled across a few gems this way – songs I’d totally forgotten about, but that instantly brought a smile to my face.
The Final Result?
It’s a work in progress, honestly. I keep adding and removing songs as I remember more, or as my mood shifts. But that’s the beauty of a playlist, right? It’s a living thing. It’s a collection of sounds that bring back those good feelings, and that’s exactly what I wanted.
Maybe I will create more playlists in the future, it’s all depened on my feel.
