So, I’ve been on this quest to find shows that give me the same vibe as Squidbillies. You know, that quirky, off-the-wall humor that just hits different. It’s been a journey, let me tell you.

I started by digging through forums and those “what to watch next” lists. The usual suspects kept popping up, like The Drinky Crow Show, China, IL, and Superjail. I mean, they’re alright, but they didn’t quite scratch that Squidbillies itch for me.
Then I thought, “Maybe I should expand my horizons a bit.” I started looking into shows with a similar chaotic energy, even if they weren’t straight-up comedies. I stumbled upon some intense stuff, like Alice in Borderland and Black Mirror. These were gripping, for sure, but definitely a different kind of messed up than Squidbillies.
- Watched The Drinky Crow Show – kinda funny, but not my cup of tea.
- Tried China, IL – eh, it was okay.
- Superjail – now this one was wild, but still not what I was looking for.
- Alice in Borderland – intense, but not the same vibe.
- Black Mirror – mind-bending, but not in a Squidbillies way.
After that, I went down a rabbit hole of South Korean and Japanese shows. I figured, “Hey, Squid Game was a hit, maybe there’s something there.” I watched a bunch of stuff, but nothing really clicked. They were good, don’t get me wrong, but just not what I was searching for.
Then someone mentioned this show called Cube and Saw. I watched them, and I was just, no, nope, not this type. This is not the same vibe and not funny at all.
Honestly, I was starting to feel a bit lost. It seemed like nothing could replace the unique brand of crazy that Squidbillies brought to the table. I even started rewatching some old episodes, just to get my fix.
So, yeah, that’s where I’m at right now. Still on the hunt, still looking for that perfect show to fill the Squidbillies-shaped hole in my heart. If anyone’s got any suggestions, hit me up. I’m all ears!
