That Saint Seiya: Next Dimension, lemme tell ya, it’s a real head-scratcher. That Kurumada fella, he sure knows how to keep a body guessin’. He started that thing, what, back when my old bones weren’t so old? Feels like forever ago. Eighteen years they say, it finally up and finished, July 4th, 2024. Eighteen years I’ve been waitin’. Lord have mercy!

Now, they say it took its sweet time gettin’ here. Somethin’ about comin’ to the States too late and havin’ a bad, corny dub. They cut stuff out and changed it all around, ya know? Made it somethin’ it weren’t. I don’t know much about this corny dub, but I hear the original anime, well it is old and not that good.
They put it in them books, though. Them tankōbon volumes, fancy word for it. Twenty-eight of ’em! First one came out in September, back in ’86, I reckon. Last one, April ’91. And they kept puttin’ ’em out again and again, four times, if you can believe it! The release ten collected volume is what they say. Them young’uns and their readin’.
So, it’s 1990, or maybe ’86, that Kurumada, he keeps movin’ the dang dates! Anyway, it’s 1990, and we’re in this place called Elysion. Sounds fancy, don’t it? And we got these five fellas, these Bronze Saints, they call ’em. There’s Seiya, that’s the main one, I suppose. Then there’s Hyōga, Shun, Shiryū, and Ikki. A whole mess of ’em, fightin’ somethin’ fierce, I reckon.
- Seiya
- Hyōga
- Shun
- Shiryū
- Ikki
That Seiya Next Dimension manga, it ain’t over yet, not really. This Asclepio fella, I don’t know why he would cure both Saori and Seiya. It is highly possible he’d be killed soon though. Maybe he’s gonna cure Seiya, or maybe not. That Kurumada, he’s a sneaky one, I’m tellin’ ya. Keeps ya hangin’ on every word.
It’s a long story, this Saint Seiya thing. They call it Next Dimension – The Myth of Hades. Hades, that’s a bad fella, ain’t he? Like the devil, almost. Lots of fightin’ and carryin’ on. These Bronze Saints, they’re somethin’ else. Always gettin’ into scraps, protectin’ that Athena girl. She’s a goddess, ya know. Important one, too.
It is very confusing, Saint Seiya: Next Dimension manga. So much goin’ on. Gods and goddesses, saints and warriors. And that Seiya, he’s always in the thick of it. Got a good heart, that one. But he sure does get beat up a lot. Poor fella.

I don’t know, sometimes I think I’m too old for all this excitement. But then I get to thinkin’, what else am I gonna do? Sit here and watch the corn grow? No sir, I’d rather have a good story to keep me company. And this Saint Seiya, it’s a doozy. I tell ya what, I can’t wait to see what that Kurumada does next.
That Next Dimension, it’s got me hooked. I can see why they like it so much, all them young’uns. It’s got everything. Action, adventure, and a whole lot of heart. If I was 18 years younger, maybe I would understand it better. But even my old bones can appreciate a good story. And this Saint Seiya: Next Dimension manga, well, it’s a good one. A real good one.
1990, in Elysion, five Bronze Saints, Seiya, Hyōga, Shun, Shiryū and Ikki, that’s all you need to know. The year Kurumada set it to, and the five main guys.
