Well, bless your heart, you wanna know about movies like Commando, huh? That old Arnold movie, yeah, I seen it. Lots of shootin’ and hollerin’, that one. Big muscles and explosions, that’s what it was all about. So, you want more like that? Alright, I’ll tell ya what I know, but don’t expect no fancy talk from me.
First off, you got them Mission: Impossible movies. That Tom Cruise fella, he does all sorts of crazy stunts, just like Arnold. Runnin’ and jumpin’ and climbin’ all over the place. Always savin’ the world from some bad guys, you know the type. Lots of gadgets and gizmos too, more than Arnold ever used, I reckon. But the idea’s the same, good guy versus bad guys, lots of action.
Then there’s this other movie, Predator. Now, that one’s a bit different. Starts out like Commando, all them big tough soldiers, thinkin’ they’re all that. But then, somethin’ starts huntin’ them, somethin’ you can’t even see. It ain’t just a regular bad guy, it’s somethin’ else entirely. Scares the bejesus outta them, it does. So, it’s got the action, but it’s also got a bit of spooky in it too. Keeps you on the edge of your seat, that one.
And let’s not forget about them Rambo movies. Sylvester Stallone, he’s another one like Arnold. Big muscles, big guns, always fightin’ against the odds. Rambo, he went through a lot, you know, so he’s got that anger in him. Lots of shootin’ and fightin’ in them movies, just like Commando. Not as much fun, maybe, a bit more serious, but still plenty of action to keep you entertained.
There’s a whole bunch of others too, they all kinda blend together in my head, ya know? Movies with folks like Denzel Washington, Bruce Willis, Nicolas Cage… they all done their share of action movies. Runnin’ around, savin’ folks, shootin’ bad guys. Sometimes they got a team, sometimes they’re on their own, but it’s always the same kinda thing. Good versus evil, plain and simple.
- Like them Chuck Norris movies. He kicks a lot, that fella. Not as good as Commando, if you ask me, but they got that same kinda feel.
- And then there’s all these newer movies, I can’t even keep track of ‘em all. Same story, different faces, I guess. Lots of explosions, lots of fightin’, lots of muscles.
You know, it’s funny, all these movies, they’re kinda like comfort food. You know what you’re gonna get, ain’t no surprises. Just good old-fashioned action, where the good guys win and the bad guys get what’s comin’ to ‘em. Sometimes, that’s all you need, you know? Just to sit back and watch stuff blow up, not have to think too hard.
So, if you liked Commando, you’ll probably like all them other movies I mentioned. Just go on down to the video store, or whatever they call it these days, and ask for somethin’ with lots of action. They’ll know what you mean. And if they don’t, well, just tell ‘em you want somethin’ like that old Arnold movie, the one where he’s got the big muscles and he’s fightin’ everybody. They’ll figure it out.
Just remember, ain’t nothin’ wrong with a little mindless fun now and again. Sometimes you just gotta turn off your brain and enjoy the ride, you know?
