Okay, so the other day I was just chilling, right? And I got this random idea in my head: “I wonder how many songs out there have ‘morning’ in the title?” Sounds kinda weird, but I was super curious. So, I grabbed my laptop and started digging around.

First, I just used Google. I typed in something like “songs with morning in the title,” and bam! A bunch of stuff popped up. There were all these lists on music sites and forums. I started clicking through them, jotting down song titles in a notebook.
Then, I thought, “I should make a playlist!” So, I opened up my Spotify and started searching for each song I’d written down. Most of them were there, which was cool. I added them to a new playlist and kept going. Some songs, I couldn’t find on Spotify, so I hopped over to YouTube. It was a bit of a back-and-forth, but it was actually pretty fun.
As I was doing this, I started noticing some patterns. Like, there are a lot of songs about morning love, or like, missing someone in the morning. There’s even a word for it, “aubade,” which is a morning love song or a song about lovers splitting up at dawn. Who knew, right? It is also defined as “a song or instrumental composition concerning, accompanying, or evoking daybreak”. I found that interesting, and it made me appreciate the songs even more.
I also stumbled upon this song from some reality show, “Real Housewives of New Jersey.” It was called “Good Morning,” and it was apparently a big deal on TikTok. I’d never watched the show, but the song was catchy, so I added that too.
One song, “Beautiful Sunday,” released by Penny Farthing Records, but by Mercury Records in the US. I’ve heard it a million times, but I never realized it had “Sunday” in the title, which counts as a “morning” song in a way. So that went on the list as well.
After a few hours, I had this massive playlist. I ended up with over 230 songs! It was way more than I expected. I put the playlist on shuffle and just listened while I did other stuff around the house.

It was a cool little project. I learned something new, discovered some new music, and now I have the perfect playlist for when I’m in a morning mood. And it all started with a simple, random thought. Sometimes, those are the best kind, right?
- Started with a simple Google search to find songs with “morning” in the title.
- Moved to Spotify to create a playlist, adding each song I found.
- Used YouTube to find songs that were not available on Spotify.
- Noticed patterns in the songs, such as many being about morning love or separation.
- Learned the word “aubade” for morning love songs.
- Found “Good Morning” from “Real Housewives of New Jersey,” popular on TikTok.
- Included “Beautiful Sunday” as it counts as a “morning” song in a way.
- Ended up with over 230 songs on my playlist after a few hours.
It was fun to find new songs and make a big playlist. I learned about “aubade” and found a song from a reality show. Now I have a great playlist for mornings, all because of a random idea I had while chilling.
