Well, howdy there! You wanna know about movies like that Star Trek thing, huh? I ain’t no expert, but I’ve seen a thing or two on that TV box. Let me tell ya, some of them space movies, they’re somethin’ else.
First off, there’s this “Orville” show. It’s like Star Trek, but, you know, different. They got a spaceship and go explorin’ and all that. But it’s also got jokes and stuff, not so serious all the time. My grandkids, they love it. They say it’s funny, and I guess it is, sometimes. It’s set way in the future, like, 400 years or somethin’. Them folks on the spaceship, they see all sorts of crazy things, just like on that Star Trek.

- and spaceships,
- and all that jazz.
Then there’s this “Babylon 5” thing. Now, that one’s a bit older, I reckon. It’s about this big space station where all sorts of different folks from different planets come together. There’s always some kind of trouble brewin’, you know? Fights and arguments and such. Reminds me of the town square on a Saturday night, but in space! It’s got a whole bunch of story lines going on at once, which can get a bit confusing if you ask me, but it’s entertaining.
And don’t forget “Space Command”! That one’s got spaceships and battles and all that good stuff. Lots of shootin’ and explosions, you know? The kind of thing that makes you jump outta your seat. My husband, he used to love them war movies, and this “Space Command” thing, it’s kinda like that, but in space. It’s exciting, that’s for sure.
Now, there’s this other one called “Odyssey 5”. This one’s a bit different. It’s about a spaceship crew that sees the Earth gettin’ blown up! Can you imagine? So, they gotta go back in time to try and stop it. It’s kinda sad, but also kinda thrilling. Makes you think about what you’d do if somethin’ like that happened. It ain’t all pew pew pew, it’s got some heart to it, ya know?
And of course, there’s that “Stargate” thing. That one ain’t just about spaceships. They got this big ring thing, a “Stargate”, that lets ’em travel all over the galaxy. They meet all sorts of different folks and fight all sorts of bad guys. It’s got a bit of everything, you know? Adventure, excitement, and even some laughs now and then. That Stargate thing, it’s like a door to anywhere, pretty neat if you ask me.
Then there’s this movie, “2001: A Space Odyssey.” Now, this one’s old, real old. But it’s a classic, they say. It’s about space travel and all that, but it’s also kinda… weird. It makes you think, you know? About life and space and all that big stuff. I didn’t understand it all, to be honest, but it was sure somethin’ to see. All them fancy pictures and that music, it was somethin’ else. People say it’s important, so I guess it is. It ain’t like them other shoot ‘em up movies, that’s for sure.
And get this, there’s this “Kingsman: The Secret Service” movie. Now, it ain’t exactly like Star Trek, ’cause it ain’t set in space. But it’s got that same kinda feel, you know? Folks with fancy gadgets and fightin’ bad guys and all that. It’s got spies and secret agents, real exciting stuff. My nephew, he told me about it. Said it was cool. And I gotta say, he was right. It’s got action and funny parts too.
So, there you have it. A whole bunch of movies and shows like that Star Trek thing. Some are serious, some are funny, some are just plain weird. But they’re all about adventure and exploration and all that good stuff. So, grab yourself some popcorn and settle in, ’cause you’re in for a ride!
Anyways, I reckon if you like that Star Trek stuff you’ll find somethin’ you like in this bunch. Just remember to have fun, and don’t think too hard about it all. It’s just movin’ pictures, after all.
And if you don’t like none of these, well, I don’t know what to tell ya. Maybe you just ain’t a space movie kinda person. And that’s alright too. There’s plenty of other things to watch on that TV box, that’s for sure. You got your soaps and your game shows and all that. Something for everyone, I reckon.
