Alright, let’s talk about this Minotaur Manga thing, you know, the one with the bull-headed fella. I ain’t no fancy scholar, but I heard tell of this Minotaur from way back when. They say he was a scary beast, half man, half bull, locked up in some maze. Sounds like a heap of trouble to me.

Now, these stories, they ain’t just for old folks like me. The young’uns, they like to draw ’em up in them manga books. I seen some, with their big eyes and wild hair. Makes the Minotaur look kinda… well, still scary, but in a different way, you know? Not like the one they talked about in the old days, all mean and nasty.
- This Minotaur, they call him Asterion or Asterius, somethin’ like that. Big name for a big fella, I reckon.
- He was stuck in this maze, built by some smarty-pants named Daedalus. Imagine buildin’ a whole maze! Folks got too much time on their hands, if you ask me.
- And this king, Minos, he was the one who put the Minotaur in there. Seems like a cruel thing to do, lockin’ up a creature like that. But then again, maybe the Minotaur wasn’t no good, always causin’ trouble.
Some folks say the Minotaur story is about how selfish people can be. Like this King Minos, he was all about himself, and that caused a lot of pain for his wife and that bull-headed kid of theirs. That’s what happens when you’re too proud, I always say. Pride comes before a fall, just like that big ol’ Minotaur in his maze.
Then there’s this manga, Minotauros no Omoibito, or somethin’. Means “Minotaur’s Sweetheart,” if I heard right. Now that’s a twist! Imagine the Minotaur havin’ a sweetheart. Guess even monsters need a little lovin’ sometimes. This manga, it was in some magazine, Shonen Gangan, I think. Seventeen chapters, that’s a lot of pictures! I ain’t read it, mind you, but I heard it’s got folks talkin’.
And then there’s these other manga, where the Minotaur is like a big boss in a dungeon. You know, like in them video games the kids play. Tenth floor of the Sazardon Labyrinth, they say. Adventurers go in there, lookin’ for treasure, but they all get beat up by the Minotaur. Serves ’em right, maybe. Shouldn’t be messin’ with things they don’t understand.
I tell you, this Minotaur story, it’s been around a long time. From them old Greek fellas to these newfangled manga books, folks just can’t get enough of it. Maybe it’s because it reminds us that there’s always somethin’ big and scary lurkin’ out there. Or maybe it’s just a good yarn, somethin’ to keep us entertained. Either way, it’s a story worth tellin’, even if it’s just an old woman like me ramblin’ on.
The Palace of Knossos, they say that’s where the maze was, way back when. Four thousand years old, imagine that! They found all sorts of things there, paintings and bathin’ pools. Fancy stuff for them old timers. They say you can even take a tour, see it all for yourself. But I reckon I’ll just stick to lookin’ at the pictures in the books. My old bones ain’t up for travelin’ no more.
So, yeah, that’s what I know about this Minotaur Manga. It’s a mix of old stories and new pictures, monsters and sweethearts, mazes and adventures. And it all goes back to that bull-headed fella, stuck in his maze, roarin’ and stompin’ his feet. Makes you think, don’t it?
But that’s enough of that. Now, where did I put my glasses? I swear, things just disappear in this house…
