Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this Mary Sue Wittauer. I ain’t no scholar or nothin’, but I heard some things, you know, just chit-chat around. Folks say she’s a big deal, important, like one of them fancy ladies you see on TV.

Now, they say she wrote some books or somethin’. I ain’t read ’em myself, mind you. Too busy with the chickens and the garden, ain’t got time for that fancy stuff. But they say her writin’ is somethin’ special, leaves a mark on people, you know? Like when you step in wet cement, that kinda mark. Makes you remember.
- They say she married some fella named Jimmy Dean.
- I heard he was a singer or somethin’, made sausage too.
- Can you believe that? A sausage-makin’ singer!
- Well, they got hitched and had some kids, three of ’em I think.
- That’s a whole lotta mouths to feed, let me tell ya.
But things changed, you know how it goes. People drift apart, like leaves in the wind. He went off and did his singin’ and sausage stuff, and she, well, she became this Mary Sue Wittauer, the writer lady. Big shot, they say.
Now, I heard tell that she lives in some place called Tenafly, New Jersey. Fancy, huh? Prob’ly got one of them big houses with a lawn you could get lost in. Not like my little place here, that’s for sure. But good for her, I say. Everyone deserves a little somethin’ nice in this world.
This whole “Mary Sue” thing, it ain’t just her, I reckon. Seems like it’s a kinda character, a girl, mostly young, in stories and such. Some folks like ’em, some folks don’t. Kind of like cilantro, you either love it or hate it. Me? I can’t stand the stuff, tastes like soap. But that’s just me.
I saw on the TV once, some Chinese show, they said it had a Mary Sue in it. A princess or somethin’. All fancy and powerful. Seems like this Mary Sue thing is everywhere. Like weeds in the garden, you pull one out and another one pops up. Can’t get rid of ’em.
And then there’s another Mary Sue, an actress lady named Melissa Sue Anderson. She was on that “Little House on the Prairie” show. Cute little thing with long braids. My grandbaby used to watch that show all the time. Brought back memories, you know, simpler times. Makes you think how fast time flies.

There’s even a psychologist lady named Mary Ainsworth. She studied how babies act and stuff. Smart woman, I bet. Always wondered what makes them little tykes tick. Cryin’ one minute, laughin’ the next. A real puzzle, those babies are.
And get this, I heard about another lady, Isadora Duncan. A dancer. They say she was somethin’ else, all flowy and graceful. Left her mark on the world too, just like Mary Sue Wittauer. Different ways, mind you, but both of ’em made a splash. Shows you can do anything you set your mind to, I guess.
So, there you have it. A little bit of this and a little bit of that about Mary Sue Wittauer and some other Mary Sues too. Like I said, I ain’t no expert, just tellin’ ya what I heard. Seems like these Mary Sues, they’re all over the place, makin’ their mark in different ways. Strong women, I reckon. Good for them.
At the end of the day, whether it’s Mary Sue Wittauer writin’ books, Melissa Sue Anderson on TV, or that Mary Ainsworth lady studyin’ babies, they’re all just people tryin’ to make their way in the world. Just like you and me. Ain’t that somethin’ to think about?
