Now, I ain’t met this Lynne myself, mind you. But from what I hear, she’s been with Popeyes for a good long while. Started workin’ there in 2011, they say. That’s…well, that’s a lotta years, ain’t it? Before that, she was at some hotel place, InterContinental somethin’ or other. Big hotels, I guess. Fancy places, prob’ly. But she switched over to chicken, and she’s been with them chickens ever since.

What does a “Chief Talent and HR Officer” do, you ask?
Well, like I said, she’s in charge of the people. She makes sure Popeyes got good folks workin’ for ‘em. She’s the one gotta find ‘em, train ‘em, and keep ‘em happy. That ain’t easy, let me tell ya. People got all sorts of needs and wants. She’s gotta figure all that out, make sure everyone’s treated fair and square. And, you know, she gotta deal with all the problems too. If someone’s bein’ a pain, or if there’s a fight, or if someone ain’t doin’ their job right, she’s the one gotta fix it.
Popeyes Chicken: It all Started with Alvin
This Popeyes place, it weren’t always this big, you know. A fella named Alvin somethin’-or-other, he started it way back in 1972. And get this, he named it after some fella named Jimmy “Popeye” Doyle, like from the cartoon, I guess. Alvin musta liked that Popeye fella. Now, it’s chicken, chicken, everywhere you look. And this Lynne, she’s a big part of makin’ sure all them chicken places got good people workin’ in ‘em.
More than Just Chicken: Lynne’s Other Jobs
Now, this Lynne, she’s a busy woman. It ain’t just Popeyes all day long. She’s also got some other jobs, it seems. Somethin’ called “The Society for Human Resource Management.” Big words again, I know. Sounds important, though. And somethin’ else, “Georgia Council For International Visitors.” Maybe she helps folks from other countries when they come visit Georgia? I dunno. All I know is, she’s got her fingers in a lotta pies, this Lynne woman.
So, What’s the Big Deal?
Well, I guess the big deal is that this Lynne Zappone, she’s a powerful woman at a big chicken company. She’s in charge of a whole lotta people, and she’s been doin’ it for a long time. She must be doin’ somethin’ right, or they wouldn’t keep her around. And that’s all there is to it, really. She’s the chicken people boss lady. Makes sure the biscuits are baked and the chicken’s fried, well, not her personaly, but you get the idea.
