Okay, so I’ve been on this huge Panic! at the Disco kick lately, right? But, like, I’ve listened to all their albums, even the weird ones. I needed something new, but still kinda… you know… that sound.

So, first, I just straight-up googled “bands like Panic! at the Disco.” Seriously, that’s where I started. No shame. I got the usual suspects: Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Paramore. I mean, duh, I’ve already blasted those bands into oblivion. Been there, done that. Needed something fresher.
Then, I remembered Spotify’s “artist radio” feature. I threw on the Panic! radio and started listening. I skipped through a ton of songs. I was getting a bit frustrated. Mostly it was just more of the same, or stuff that was, like, way too pop-punk for what I was going for. I like some of the heavier Panic stuff, but sometimes it is too much.
Digging Deeper
I spent a solid hour just clicking through “related artists” on Spotify. I found a few interesting ones that I hadn’t really explored before. Like, I knew of them, but I hadn’t really listened.
- The Brobecks:Ok, so this one I found, and it turns out the former bassist was the frontman, and I actually did like some of their tracks.
- Cobra Starship: They got some of that pop-rock vibe like P!ATD, so I think I will also be listening to their other tracks.
I wrote down the names of anything that even remotely caught my ear. Then I started doing separate Spotify searches for those bands, checking out their related artists. It was like a rabbit hole, man. I was going deep.
Finally, I decided to hit up some music forums. I found some old Reddit threads where people were asking the same question. Lots of the same recommendations, of course, but every now and then, someone would drop a name I’d never heard of. It was like finding little hidden gems.
I’m still compiling my ultimate “post-Panic!” playlist, it is a work in progress. But, so far I’ve got it down to a handful of artists.
