Okay, so I wanted to put together a playlist of songs that have “smoking” in the title. Not songs about smoking, necessarily, but songs that actually use the word “smoking” in the title itself. Seemed like a fun little project, right?

First, I cracked my knuckles and opened up my favorite music streaming app. You know, the one with the green circle. I figured I’d start with a basic search and see what popped up.
I typed “smoking” into the search bar, and…well, a whole bunch of stuff came up. Most of it wasn’t what I was looking for. Lots of songs with “smoke,” but not “smoking.” I needed to get a little more specific.
Refining the Search
So, I started playing around with the search terms. I tried things like “song title smoking,” “songs with smoking in the title,” and even just “smoking songs” (which, predictably, brought up a lot of songs about smoking, not what I wanted!).
I spent a good chunk of time just sifting through results. I’d click on a song, listen for a few seconds, and realize, “Nope, that’s not it.” It was a little tedious, to be honest.
Building the List
But, slowly but surely, I started finding some gems. I added them to a new playlist, carefully checking each one to make sure it fit the criteria.
- I put on “Smoking Section”.
- Then I added “Cigarettes and Coffee” because it’s kind of about smoking.
- I searched “Smokin’” and add the song to the list.
It’s still a work in progress, I think. I’m sure there are tons of songs out there that I missed. But hey, that’s part of the fun, right? It’s like a treasure hunt, and I get to discover some new music along the way.

I also check some of the public playlist, finding more songs, and make the list better.
Finally, I had built a perfect list, and enjoyed the songs all afternoon.
