Okay, so, a while back I got totally hooked on this show called “Gold Rush.” It was all about these guys trying to strike it rich mining for gold, and I just couldn’t get enough. After a while, though, I needed a new fix, you know? Something with that same kind of vibe. So, I started poking around, trying to find shows that were similar.

First thing I did was hit up Google. I just typed in “shows similar to Gold Rush” and a bunch of stuff popped up. There were articles and lists, all promising to give me that same kind of thrill I got from watching “Gold Rush.”
I started checking out some of the suggestions. One that kept coming up was this show called “Yukon Gold.” Apparently, it’s like a Canadian version of “Gold Rush,” maybe not as slick, but some folks online said it was even better in its own way. That sounded promising, so I added it to my list.
- Tried “Yukon Gold” – pretty good, a bit rough around the edges.
- Found “Bering Sea Gold” – also cool, especially the under-the-ice stuff.
Then there was another one called “Bering Sea Gold,” which, you guessed it, was about gold mining in the Bering Sea. They even had these crazy episodes where they were mining under the ice! I thought, “Okay, that’s definitely worth a watch.”
I also found out some folks are talking about these shows on Netflix, iTunes, and Amazon. I figured I check it out later.
After I tried a few shows, I realized they all kinda followed the same formula. You got your rough-and-tumble folks, battling the elements, hoping to make it big. It’s a simple recipe, but it works. I did find out “Gold Rush” had a new season, Season 13, which began on September 30, 2022. It’s all about Parker Schnabel, Tony Beets, Fred Lewis and Clayton Brothers. Cool!
My Watchlist
So, after all that digging, I’ve got a pretty solid list of shows to check out. “Yukon Gold” and “Bering Sea Gold” are at the top, but I’ve got a few others lined up too. It’s not exactly the same as “Gold Rush,” but it’s close enough to keep me entertained. I guess I just like watching people chase their dreams, even if those dreams involve a lot of dirt and heavy machinery.
