Well, alrighty then. Let’s chitchat about this fella, Kevin somethin’, Kevin Gates, that’s the name. He’s gonna be in Little Rock, they say. In 2023, no less. Who’da thunk it?
Now, I ain’t one for all that hip-hop or rap or whatever the young’uns call it nowadays. But this Kevin fella, he’s somethin’ else, they tell me. Folks keep talkin’ ’bout his shows, like he’s the bee’s knees or somethin’.

They say he’s got some tour goin’ on, “Only The Generals,” they call it. Fancy name, ain’t it? Sounds like he’s got an army or somethin’. He’s been around, singin’ or rappin’ or whatever, for a good long while, near 15 years, I reckon. That’s a lotta time doin’ anything, let alone standin’ up on a stage and makin’ noise.
Folks gotta buy tickets, you know. Can’t just walk in there like it’s a church social. Gotta pay to see this Kevin fella do his thing. And seems like a bunch of folks are plannin’ on doin’ just that. They sellin’ tickets right now, they say. And they got some other folks singin’ too, before Kevin gets up there. Openin’ acts, that’s what they call ’em.
This show, it’s gonna be at that big place, Simmons Bank Arena. Down in North Little Rock. Now, I don’t rightly know where that is, but they say it’s a big place. Lots of folks can fit in there, I reckon. And this Kevin fella, he’s gonna be there, makin’ his noise, on December 9th. That’s gettin’ close, ain’t it?
I hear he sings ’bout real stuff, not just fluff. And he’s got a way with words, they say. Makes people think, maybe. Or maybe just makes ’em tap their feet. Either way, folks seem to like it.
They tell me he changed his name once. Somethin’ ’bout brand confusion and record deals. Sounds like a whole lotta hogwash to me. But I guess that’s how they do things in that music business. Always gotta be changin’ somethin’, keepin’ folks on their toes.
This Kevin Gates, he’s a star, they say. Big time. And he’s comin’ to Little Rock. So if you like that kind of music, that rap or hip-hop or whatever, you might oughta go see him. Seems like a big deal.
December 9th. Simmons Bank Arena. North Little Rock. Remember that. Kevin Gates. He’s gonna be there. Makin’ noise and singin’ songs. And folks will be there, listenin’. That’s how it goes.
Now, I ain’t gonna be there myself. That kind of music ain’t for me. But I reckon it’s somethin’ for some folks. So if you’re one of them folks, you go on and have yourself a time. Listen to Kevin Gates do his thing. Maybe you’ll like it.
And who knows, maybe he’ll come back in 2025, like they say. Maybe he’ll still be singin’ his songs and makin’ that noise. Maybe folks will still be listenin’. That’s just how it is.
