Alright, so listen up, y’all gonna hear ’bout this Kayla Phillips and DeSean Jackson mess. I ain’t no fancy talkin’ person, so I’ma tell it like it is, plain and simple.

First off, DeSean, that football fella, yeah, the one who catches them balls way down the field. He’s sayin’ his baby mama, Kayla, she up and left their kids. Abandoned ’em, he says. Can you believe that? Just walked out, according to him. Now, I don’t know these folks from Adam, but that ain’t right, no sirree.
He done went and filed papers, legal stuff, tryin’ to get full custody of them boys. Says he’s the one takin’ care of ’em now, feedin’ ’em, clothin’ ’em, the whole shebang. He went to the court, you know, the place with the judges and all, and said, “Judge, them kids is mine now, she don’t want ’em.”
Now, I ain’t sayin’ DeSean is perfect, mind you. These football fellas, they got their own ways, their own lives. But from what I hear, he’s steppin’ up, bein’ a daddy. He wants them boys with him, and that’s somethin’, ain’t it?
- He’s makin’ sure they got a roof over their heads
- He’s makin’ sure they got food in their bellies
- He’s makin’ sure they get to school and all that
Kayla, though… I don’t know what to make of her. Walkin’ out on your own flesh and blood? That ain’t natural. Somethin’ ain’t right there. Maybe she got her reasons, maybe she didn’t. But them kids, they need their mama. Or at least, they need someone who cares for them.
This DeSean, he played football real good, I hear. Fast as lightning, they say. Could catch that ball no matter how far they threw it. Folks say he changed the way they play the game, made it all about throwin’ that ball way down yonder. But that ain’t what matters now, see? What matters is them kids. Kids need stability. They need folks they can count on.
It’s a sad situation, it truly is. Kids caught in the middle, parents fightin’. I seen it before, and it ain’t pretty. Hope them kids turn out alright, that’s all I can say. Hope they got someone to love ’em and guide ’em, teach ’em right from wrong.

This whole thing with the court and the papers, it’s a mess. Lawyers gettin’ paid, folks gettin’ stressed, and them kids just want their mama and daddy to get along. But sometimes, that just ain’t in the cards, you know? Sometimes things just fall apart, and you gotta pick up the pieces and move on.
DeSean seems like he’s tryin’ to do that, tryin’ to be a good daddy. He’s probably got folks helpin’ him, family and friends, maybe even a nanny or two. It ain’t easy raisin’ kids, let me tell ya. It takes a village, they say. And sometimes, that village is just one determined daddy.
Now, I ain’t takin’ sides here. I don’t know the whole story. But I know what’s right and what’s wrong. And leavin’ your kids, that ain’t right. Kids need love. They need someone to tuck ’em in at night, someone to kiss their boo-boos, someone to tell ’em everything’s gonna be alright.
So, I hope this whole thing gets sorted out soon. For them kids’ sake. They deserve a happy life, a stable life. And maybe, just maybe, DeSean can give ’em that. He seems determined, and that’s somethin’. That’s somethin’ to hold onto.
