Well, let me tell you, if you liked that ‘Hellboy’ movie, there’s a whole lot more like it out there. Now, I ain’t no fancy movie critic, but I sure know what gets the heart racing and the eyes glued to the screen. You like all that action, mystery, and the creatures that don’t quite look like they belong in this world? You’re in luck! I’ve seen a few movies that might just be right up your alley if you love Hellboy.

First off, there’s Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018). Now, don’t go thinkin’ it’s all about magical creatures and wands like them Harry Potter flicks, no sir. This one’s darker, a bit more twisted, and got a nice bit of adventure mixed in. The characters are a bit mysterious, and they’re not just fighting dragons or whatever, they’re fighting for control of some big ol’ power. And if you’re into that magic stuff, you’ll love it. It’s got a feel to it that reminds me of Hellboy’s world – full of danger and deep secrets.
Then, you got Birds of Prey (2020), now that one’s a bit different, but it’s got that same sense of rebellion and breaking away from the ordinary. Margot Robbie plays Harley Quinn, and she’s just as wild as you might expect. Lots of action, a little chaos, and a whole lotta humor mixed in. This one don’t have the big ol’ monsters like Hellboy, but it’s still packed with that ‘go against the world’ kind of energy.
Now, for all you who like a good fight and some creatures that’ll make you jump, check out Constantine (2005). It’s got Keanu Reeves in it, and he’s not just your regular guy, no sir. He’s out there fighting demons, dealing with some real bad folks from the underworld. You won’t find any cuddly creatures in this one, but if you like Hellboy’s dark, mysterious side, Constantine sure brings that vibe. They both got that supernatural, don’t mess with me kind of feel to ’em.
And, don’t forget Pan’s Labyrinth (2006), from the same fella who brought you Hellboy, Guillermo del Toro. It’s got a whole bunch of mythical creatures, but with a twist. It’s a little sadder, a little more eerie, and takes place during the Spanish Civil War. But you’ll see some of the same creatures that remind you of the fantastical world Hellboy comes from. It’s a beautiful movie, but not for the faint of heart, I tell you that.
Let’s not overlook The Shape of Water (2017), another del Toro masterpiece. Now, it’s a bit of a love story, but it’s also about a creature who’s not quite human, just like Hellboy. People don’t understand him, they fear him, but he’s got a story worth telling. It’s dark, it’s odd, and the whole atmosphere is just like something you’d expect from the Hellboy universe – full of mystery and things that make you wonder what’s real and what ain’t.
Then there’s Hellboy: The Crooked Man (2024). If you liked the original Hellboy films, you might want to check out this new one. It’s got all that action, those creepy creatures, and the kind of humor that makes you laugh when things are supposed to be scary. Ain’t no harm in watching this one, especially if you love Hellboy and his gang of misfits. They’re back to do what they do best – fight the bad guys and save the day, even if it’s not exactly clear who the good guys are.
If you want somethin’ a bit older, there’s always Blade II (2002). Now, I know it ain’t got no big red demon, but it’s got vampires, and if you like creatures from another world, you’ll be right at home. Blade fights all kinds of nasty things, and he’s got that Hellboy vibe – a bit rough around the edges, but he gets the job done.
Now, there’s a bunch more out there, but I reckon these are the ones that hit close to home when it comes to that dark, action-packed, supernatural feel. You want a world where the lines between good and evil are blurry, where monsters are sometimes the heroes, and where every fight’s for something bigger than just the next paycheck. These films got that, and I know you’ll find somethin’ you like.
So, there you have it. Movies like Hellboy, sure to get your heart poundin’ and your mind wonderin’ about what’s out there in the dark corners of the world. Grab some popcorn, sit back, and enjoy the ride. But remember, some of these movies might not be for the faint-hearted, so if you get scared, don’t say I didn’t warn you!
