So, I came across this movie, “Lady Macbeth,” and I was like, whoa, this is intense! I mean, it’s got everything – a trapped woman, a suffocating marriage, and a whole lot of dark stuff going on. Naturally, I wanted more of that vibe. So I thought, let’s find some movies like “Lady Macbeth”, you know? Get some recommendations, see what’s out there that’s similar.
First, I went digging, trying to figure out what made “Lady Macbeth” tick. I realized it’s not just about a woman wanting to break free; it’s about power, control, and the messed-up things people do to get what they want. There’s this maid, Ana, who’s clearly been through a lot, but there’s no real sympathy between her and the main character, Katherine. It’s all pretty grim. Anyway that’s the reason why I was so into it and wanted to find some similar movies.

- Movies with strong female leads: “Lady Macbeth” is all about Katherine and her, uh, journey, so I wanted to see what other movies had strong female characters who take charge, even if it’s in messed-up ways.
- Movies about toxic relationships: I mean, Katherine’s marriage is a total disaster, so I figured there must be other movies out there that explore that kind of dynamic.
I spent a good chunk of time just browsing through lists, reading summaries, and watching trailers. I even checked out some articles that were specifically about movies like “Lady Macbeth,” which was super helpful. Then, I went to check out what’s new on streaming platforms. I ended up with a pretty solid list of movies to check out. I’m not gonna lie, some of them look really intense, but that’s kind of what I’m going for, right?
