Well now, let me tell ya somethin’ about this IA’s Film Concert at Anime Midwest, somethin’ I ain’t never heard of before, but sounds mighty interestin’. Y’all know Anime Midwest, right? It’s this big ol’ event, kinda like a party for folks who love anime and all that Japan stuff. They have it every year, and folks come from all over to see it. Now, in 2024, they’re doin’ somethin’ real special with IA’s Film Concert.
So, IA is a big name in the anime world. I don’t know much about the fancy techy stuff, but folks say she’s a virtual singer. Not like a regular singer, mind ya, but one that’s all computer made. And she’s gonna be performin’ at Anime Midwest, which is held from July 5th to 7th at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont, Illinois. Big ol’ place, I reckon. Folks are gettin’ real excited, talkin’ about it like it’s the best thing since sliced bread. They’re even sayin’ IA’s concert is gonna be somethin’ like a movie, but with music and all sorts of fancy visuals. Sounds real high-tech, don’t it?
The concert’s gonna be on the Grand Stage, now that sounds like a mighty big stage to me. It’ll start at 4:00pm on that Sunday, July 8th, 2024. If ya ask me, that’s just the right time for somethin’ like this—right after folks have had a good time wanderin’ around the convention and are ready for somethin’ to sit down and enjoy. IA’s gonna perform with all her virtual glory, and fans are gonna be able to sing along and cheer. I reckon it’ll be like a big ol’ party for all the anime lovers out there.
Now, Anime Midwest itself is famous for puttin’ on a good show. They’re known for havin’ electrifyin’ concerts that make people jump up outta their seats, clappin’ their hands and tappin’ their feet to all those anime songs. If you love those tunes, you ain’t gonna wanna miss out. And let me tell ya, people come from near and far to see these things. Some folks travel across the country just to be a part of this big ol’ anime celebration. There’s somethin’ about bein’ surrounded by other fans that just makes it all the more special. It’s like one big family, all brought together by their love for anime.
Folks who like to dress up too, they got somethin’ special for that. On Friday night, July 5th, there’s gonna be a Cosplay Prom at 9:00pm. Now, I reckon that’s just a fancy name for a party where people wear all kinds of costumes, like their favorite anime characters. Some might even wear fancy clothes, but most will probably be dressed as their favorite characters from the shows they love. That’s the beauty of anime, I suppose—everybody gets to be someone else for a little while. And who knows? You might even win a prize for the best costume!
Now, I can’t say I know much about what’s goin’ on at the convention, but from what I hear, they’ll have all sorts of events. There’ll be panels, where folks can talk about their favorite shows and characters, and even some games. You know, like those tournaments where people compete in video games. And for the artists and folks who sell stuff, they’ll have an exhibit hall where you can buy all kinds of anime merch—figures, posters, books, and who knows what else. If you’re lookin’ to add somethin’ special to your collection, this is the place to do it. The whole place will be buzzin’ with excitement from start to finish.
But what makes Anime Midwest stand out, especially this year, is how it mixes all the fun of anime with a big ol’ concert like IA’s Film Concert. Imagine watchin’ a movie, but the movie’s a concert, and you’re sittin’ there with a whole bunch of other folks who love anime just as much as you do. It’s bound to be a real good time, I reckon.

If you’re thinkin’ about goin’, I’d say don’t miss it. Get your tickets early, ’cause I bet it’s gonna sell out fast. And if you can’t make it this year, don’t worry. There’s always next time. But if you can, get yourself to Anime Midwest 2024. It’s gonna be a weekend full of fun, excitement, and of course, a whole lot of anime!
