Oh, let me tell you somethin’ about this movie, “The Ring”. Ya know, it’s one of them horror flicks that sticks with ya. Ain’t no fancy words needed here. It came out long time ago, back in 2002, and let me tell ya, it scared folks right good. People were hollerin’ and talkin’ about it for days after watchin’ it. That’s somethin’, huh?

Now, this movie, it’s actually a remake. They took an old Japanese movie, “Ringu,” from 1998, and made it all spooky for us over here. I reckon they knew folks would like it, and boy, did they ever. That “Ring” movie raked in a good bit of money, too. Made over $130 million just here in the U.S. That’s more than I can count on my fingers and toes, let me tell ya!
Scary parts of the movie
- The first thing I remember is that tape. Ya watch that tape, and next thing ya know, you get a phone call sayin’ you’ll die in seven days. I mean, who comes up with that kinda stuff? But it sure had folks shook up.
- Then there’s that girl, Samara. She’s the creepiest thing in the whole movie, crawlin’ outta the TV and whatnot. I don’t think I’d sleep easy after seein’ that, no sir.
- The way they done the scenes, with all the dark colors and weird noises, it makes your skin crawl. You know somethin’s comin’, but when it does, you still jump outta your seat.
Now, them stills from the movie, they capture all them scary moments right good. You got them high-res pictures and all, showin’ everything clear as day. If you look at them stills, you can almost feel the chill down your back. It’s like you’re watchin’ the movie all over again, but without the screamin’. Well, unless you’re a scaredy-cat like my cousin Earl, who’d probably scream just lookin’ at a picture.
The movie’s full of surprises. You think you know what’s comin’, but then, bam, somethin’ else happens. That’s what makes it so good. It ain’t just some slasher movie with blood everywhere, no. It’s about what you don’t see as much as what you do see. That’s the real spooky part. And even after all these years, folks still say it’s one of the best horror movies. I reckon they’re right. Ain’t much come out since then that’s got people talkin’ like this one did.

Why people still talkin’ about it
- It ain’t just cause it was scary. No, sir. It’s cause it had that story that got under your skin. You start thinkin’ about that girl, Samara, and that tape, and you wonder, what if it was real? Makes you wanna toss your TV right out the window!
- Plus, it’s part of somethin’ bigger. This movie kicked off a whole bunch of remakes of Japanese horror films. After “The Ring” hit it big, they started remakin’ all sorts of them movies. But I don’t think any of ‘em hit as hard as “The Ring.”
- And I reckon it’s cause of how the director, Gore Verbinski, put it all together. He didn’t just make a scary movie. He made a story that sticks with ya, like gum on your shoe.
So, if you ain’t seen it yet, well, you better buckle up and give it a watch. Just don’t say I didn’t warn ya. It’s one of them movies you won’t forget anytime soon, and even if you do, them stills from the movie’ll bring all them spooky feelings rushin’ back.
