Makes me think of a fella tryin’ to sweet-talk his gal, promisin’ her the moon and stars if she’d just crack a smile. I bet it’s got a good beat, somethin’ you can tap your feet to while you’re churnin’ butter or shuckin’ corn. You know, the kind of song that makes you wanna get up and dance a jig, even if your knees ain’t what they used to be.

- They had a song, “I’m a Believer,” and I swear, there’s somethin’ in there ’bout smilin’.

There’s probably a whole mess of other “smile” songs out there, songs I ain’t even heard of yet. Maybe some country tunes, some gospel songs, maybe even some of them newfangled pop songs. But one thing’s for sure, if a song’s got “smile” in the title, it’s probably got a good heart. It’s probably a song about happiness, about love, about findin’ the good things in life, even when them good things seem harder to find than a needle in a haystack.
So, next time you’re feelin’ down in the dumps, try lookin’ up some of these “smile” songs. They might just do the trick. They might just remind you that even on the cloudiest days, the sun’s still shinin’ up there somewhere. And that’s somethin’ to smile about, ain’t it?
