Okay, so I’ve been meaning to put together a list of the greatest ski movies ever, and today I finally did it! It took a bit longer than I thought, but hey, good things take time, right?
The Hunt for the Classics
First, I brainstormed all the ski movies I could remember watching over the years. This was a fun trip down memory lane! I scribbled down names on a piece of paper, anything that came to mind, from the old-school Warren Miller flicks to some of the newer, edgier stuff.
Digging Through the Web
Next, I hit the internet. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing any obvious classics. I spent a good chunk of time scouring through online forums and movie review sites, jotting down any titles that seemed to pop up repeatedly. It was cool to see what other people considered the best of the best.
Tough Choices: The Cut
This was the hardest part! I had a huge list, and I needed to whittle it down to something manageable. I started by eliminating movies that I personally hadn’t seen. Then, I focused on films that seemed to have a lasting impact, you know, the ones people still talk about. Some of that required going through a few lists I found online, just to cross-reference.
My Own Experiences
Ultimately, I wanted this list to be my own, so I leaned heavily on my personal preferences. I thought back to the movies that really got me stoked to hit the slopes, the ones with the most memorable scenes, and the ones that best captured the feeling of skiing.
Finally Putting It all Together
- Watched a few scene.
- Compared some of the online comments.
- Put things in my favorite order.
It was a fun project, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Hopefully, it inspires some others to check out some of these awesome movies! Now, I just need to find some time to re-watch a few of them myself…
