Okay, so I’ve been on this kick lately of finding movies that give off that same vibe as “The Blue Lagoon.” You know, the whole stranded-on-a-deserted-island, coming-of-age, beautiful scenery thing. It’s a weirdly specific niche, but I was determined to find some good ones.
My Search Begins
First, I just straight-up googled “movies like The Blue Lagoon.” Predictably, I got a bunch of lists, some helpful, some not so much. Most of them just listed other movies with a tropical setting, which wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. I wanted that feeling of isolation and discovery, not just pretty beaches.
Diving Deeper
So, I started digging a little deeper. I went to some movie forums and asked around. I figured actual people might have better suggestions than random websites. This actually worked pretty well! I got a few recommendations that I hadn’t seen on any of the lists.
Making My Own List
I am keeping track of my efforts.
- Return to the Blue Lagoon (1991)– A classic and maybe a bit on the nose.
- Paradise (1982)– I have seen a lot of people said, that this movie also similar to the blue lagoon.
- The Black Stallion(1979)-This might be a good one.
The Results (So Far)
Honestly, finding movies that perfectly capture the “Blue Lagoon” magic is tough. It’s such a unique blend of elements. But I’m still on the hunt, and I’m enjoying the journey (and the pretty scenery along the way!). It is a process, isn’t it?
