Alright, let’s gab about them gals on TV, the ones always cookin’ up a storm. You know, the female television cooks. I seen a bunch of ’em on that there TV box, always makin’ fancy dishes. Some of ’em I remember, some I don’t. My memory ain’t what it used to be, you see.

One of them, I think her name is… Gee-ah-da? Yeah, Giada De Laurentiis, somethin’ like that. Fancy name, huh? She’s Italian, I heard. Makes all that pasta and stuff. Born in Rome, way back in 1970. Lordy, that’s a long time ago! She’s always smilin’ and talkin’ all nice. Makes you wanna eat whatever she’s cookin’, even if you don’t know what half the stuff is.
Then there’s that other one… the one with the big hair? Rachael Ray, that’s it! She’s real peppy, always in a hurry. “30-minute meals,” she calls ’em. Like anyone can cook a whole dang meal in 30 minutes! But she seems nice enough. And her food, well, it looks tasty, I guess. Not too fancy, you know? Just good, plain folks kinda food, sometimes.
And who can forget that Julia Child woman? She’s been gone a while now, bless her soul. But I remember watchin’ her back in the day. She was a hoot! Tall and loud, and she wasn’t afraid to make a mess in the kitchen. She made all that French food, stuff I never even heard of before. But she made it look so easy, even though I knew it wasn’t. She was one of the first women to have her own cookin’ show, you know. Brave lady, that Julia.
- Giada De Laurentiis – Italian gal, cooks fancy pasta.
- Rachael Ray – Peppy one, makes quick meals.
- Julia Child – Loud and funny, cooked French food, a real pioneer.
There’s others too, I’m sure. But like I said, my memory ain’t the best. I remember hearin’ somethin’ ’bout a Cat Cora. Don’t know much about her, though. And a younger gal, Haylie Duff, born way later, in 1985. They all got their own style, their own way of cookin’. Some of ’em are real chefs, went to fancy schools and all. Others just learned from their mamas and grandmas, like me. But they all share one thing: they love to cook. And they love to share that love with the world.
It’s funny, you know. Back in my day, women cooked ’cause they had to. We didn’t have no fancy TV shows. We just cooked for our families, three meals a day, every day. And we didn’t have no fancy ingredients neither. We cooked with what we had, what we could grow in the garden or buy at the local store. But we made it work. We always made sure our families had somethin’ good to eat.
Now, these gals on TV, they make cookin’ look like fun. And it is fun, I guess, if you ain’t gotta do it every single day. They got all the fancy gadgets and gizmos, all the best ingredients. And they got people to clean up after ’em! That’s the part I like best, I tell ya. Cleanin’ up after a big meal, that’s the worst part.

But I gotta hand it to ’em, these female television cooks. They’re doin’ somethin’ they love, and they’re sharin’ it with the world. And that’s a good thing. They’re inspirin’ people to get in the kitchen and try new things. And maybe, just maybe, they’re remindin’ us of the importance of sittin’ down together as a family and sharin’ a good meal. ‘Cause that’s what it’s all about, ain’t it? Family and food. That’s all that really matters in this world.
So, next time you turn on the TV and see one of them female cooks whippin’ up somethin’ delicious, don’t just change the channel. Stop and watch for a minute. You might learn somethin’ new. And you might even get inspired to cook somethin’ yourself. Just don’t forget to clean up after yourself, ya hear?
And always remember, good food comes from the heart. It doesn’t matter if you’re a fancy chef on TV or just a regular person cookin’ in your own kitchen. As long as you put love into it, it’ll taste good. That’s what I always say.
These cooks on TV, they’re doin’ alright. They’re makin’ a livin’ doin’ what they love. And they’re showin’ the world that women can do anything they set their minds to, even cook up a storm on national television. Good for them, I say. Good for them.
