Alright, let’s gab about some famous female voice actors, you know, the ones who make them cartoon characters sound real. I don’t watch much TV myself, too busy with the chickens and the garden, but I hear folks talkin’ ’bout ’em all the time.

First off, they say there’s this Laura Bailey. She’s from Los Angeles, I reckon, and she’s won a bunch of awards for her voice work. They say she’s in them animations and video games. Don’t know much about that stuff, but sounds fancy. Probably makes a good livin’, better than sellin’ eggs at the market, that’s for sure. People are always lookin’ for somethin’ different to watch or play, so I guess that keeps her busy.
- She must be pretty good if she’s winnin’ awards. Reminds me of that time my Bessie won a blue ribbon for her pumpkin pie at the county fair. Folks were linin’ up for a slice, I tell ya.
- Now, this Laura, she probably talks for all sorts of characters. Maybe she’s a princess one day, a dragon the next. Must be fun, playin’ pretend like that. I used to do that with my sister when we were little, ‘cept we didn’t get paid for it.
Then there’s this June Foray gal. They call her the “First Lady of Animated Voicing.” Sounds mighty important, doesn’t it? They say she’s been doin’ this for over eighty years! That’s a long time, even longer than I’ve been farmin’ this land. She must’ve seen a whole lot of changes in her time. I remember when we got our first radio, that was somethin’. Now they got these fancy picture shows and everyone’s talkin’ into little boxes.
June Foray, she gave life to all sorts of cartoon folks. I reckon she’s like the grandma of voice actors, showin’ everyone how it’s done. Probably got a voice like honey, smooth and sweet. Or maybe she can do all sorts of voices, high and low, loud and soft. It’s a gift, I tell ya, a real gift from God. Not everyone can just open their mouth and make magic happen.
And get this, there’s this Mel Blanc fella, they call him the “Man of a Thousand Voices”. Now, I know this article is about the ladies, but they mentioned him, so he must be important. He did voices for them Looney Tunes, like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. My grandbaby loves that Bugs Bunny, always hoppin’ around and eatin’ carrots. Mel Blanc, he must’ve been somethin’ special to make them characters so lively. But see, these ladies, they’re just as good, maybe even better. They gotta work twice as hard to get noticed in this world, that’s what I always say.
Now, there’s another one, Kiernan Shipka. They say she’s a famous voice actress too, born on November 10th. Don’t know what year, but that don’t matter much. She’s younger than me, that’s for sure. Maybe she does the voices for them newfangled cartoons, the ones with all the bright colors and fast-talkin’ characters. My grandkids try to explain ’em to me, but I can’t keep up. It’s all too much for my old brain.
And then there’s Ayane Sakura, a Japanese voice actor. She’s famous for her work in them mangas and animes, whatever those are. Sounds foreign, don’t it? She even won some kind of award, a Seiyu Award, they call it. Good for her, I say. It just goes to show you, talent can come from anywhere in the world. Whether you’re talkin’ like me or talkin’ like them fancy folks on TV, it don’t matter. If you got somethin’ to say, people will listen.

And let’s not forget Cherami Leigh. She’s an American actress, they say, from Dallas, Texas. She does voices for them animes and video games too. That Dallas, that’s a big city, I hear. Lots of hustle and bustle. I bet she’s got a real strong voice, gotta speak up to be heard in a place like that. She probably works hard, just like the rest of us. It ain’t easy makin’ a livin’, no matter what you do.
So, there you have it. A bunch of famous female voice actors. They might not be famous like them movie stars, but they’re important just the same. They bring joy to folks, young and old, with their voices. And that’s a good thing, I reckon. We need more joy in this world, that’s for sure.
They make them characters come alive, make you believe they’re real. It’s like magic, I tell ya. And it takes a special kind of person to do that. Someone who ain’t afraid to use their voice, someone who ain’t afraid to be silly, someone who ain’t afraid to be themselves.
And that’s all I gotta say about that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens. They’re probably squawkin’ up a storm, wantin’ their dinner.
