Well, let me tell ya, “I don’t play by anyone’s rules” is somethin’ that fella on that Family Guy show said. Now, I ain’t watched much of it myself, too busy with, ya know, livin’ life and all. But my grandkid, he’s always goin’ on about it. This here show, it’s been on for a coon’s age, seems like. Twenty somethin’ seasons, they say. That’s a lot of episodes, a whole lotta talkin’ goin’ on.
Now, that there quote, “I don’t play by anyone’s rules,” it’s kinda like somethin’ my ol’ man used to say, ‘cept he said it different, ya know? He’d say somethin’ like, “I do what I gotta do.” Same kinda meanin’, I reckon. Means you ain’t gonna let nobody boss ya around, you gonna do things your own way. And that Family Guy show, from what I hear, that’s what it’s all about. Lots of folks doin’ whatever they please, sayin’ whatever pops into their heads.
- Family Guy Characters: They got this Peter fella, he’s a real piece of work, always gettin’ into trouble. And then there’s his wife, Lois, she’s tryin’ to keep things together, but it ain’t easy. They got kids too, and a dog that talks, imagine that! A talkin’ dog!
- Family Guy Quotes: Like I said, my grandkid’s always repeatin’ stuff from the show. This “I don’t play by anyone’s rules” thing, that’s just one of ’em. He’s always sayin’ “What the hell?” too, must be somethin’ they say a lot on that show. And some other words too, words I ain’t gonna repeat, not fit for polite company, ya know? From what I gather, they say all kinda things, even stuff that ain’t exactly… appropriate. Like them swear words my grandkid keeps repeatin’. But I guess that’s what folks like these days, they like things a little bit… wild.
And that “I don’t play by anyone’s rules” thing? It’s somethin’ a lot of folks can relate to, I reckon. Everybody wants to feel like they’re in charge of their own life, like they ain’t gotta answer to nobody. Even if it ain’t always true, it’s nice to think it is. We all got rules we gotta follow, whether we like it or not. But sometimes, yeah, sometimes you just gotta do things your own way, even if it means bendin’ the rules a little bit. Just don’t go around tellin’ everybody I said that.
My grandkid, he’s always on that Reddit thing, talkin’ about the show with other folks. They share their favorite quotes, talk about their favorite episodes. It’s like a whole other world, these online places. Folks talkin’ about a show, characters that ain’t even real. But I guess it makes ’em happy, so who am I to judge? He told me there’s this Moses Griffin too, sounds like a bible fella, always laying down rules. Ironic, ain’t it? In a show about not following rules, there is someone sets them down anyway.
Anyways, that’s about all I know about that “I don’t play by anyone’s rules” quote and that Family Guy show. It’s a show about a family, a crazy family, doin’ whatever they want, sayin’ whatever they want. And that quote, well, it’s kinda like the motto for the whole dang show, I guess. Do what you want, don’t let nobody tell you what to do. Though, like I said, life ain’t always that simple. But it’s a nice thought, ain’t it? Family Guy, twenty somethin’ seasons, and a whole lotta folks sayin’ “What the hell?” and “I don’t play by anyone’s rules.” It’s a crazy world, I tell ya.
