Well, folks, let me tell ya about the Drumm family. They was on that TV show, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” back in the day, you know, during the sixth season. That was quite the thing back then. They got a brand new house built for ’em, thanks to all them volunteers working their tails off. Them folks at the show did a real good job on that house, you could tell it was a real home, not just some place to sleep. But what happened to the Drumm family after all that? Are they still living in that house? Let’s take a look, shall we?
So, the Drumm family, they got picked to be on the show after a whole lotta folks heard about their story. The Drumm’s, they come from Quincy Township, Pennsylvania. They had some tough times, you know? They was living in a place that was falling apart, not enough room for everyone, and things just weren’t easy for ’em. But then the folks at “Extreme Makeover” came in and, well, the whole community came together to help ’em out. In just three days, they got that house all fixed up, and it was a real sight to see. I remember watching it on TV and thinkin’, “Now that’s what a family needs.” They even went on a trip to Disney World while all the work was gettin’ done, so they come back to a brand new life. Must’ve been a heck of a thing, huh?
But now, here we are in 2021, and you gotta wonder, how they doin’ now? Well, a lot’s happened since them big days on TV. First off, they didn’t exactly have it all smooth-sailing after that fancy new house came up. There’s been talk about them runnin’ into some trouble. See, just because you get a new house, don’t mean the money starts rollin’ in, right? You still gotta work, still gotta pay them bills, and sometimes, things get tough again.
One of the big problems folks talk about is how a lot of families from that show ended up losing their homes after a while. You’d think gettin’ a brand new house would fix everything, but sometimes, it’s like puttin’ a new coat of paint on a leaky roof – it don’t always last. By 2020, there was word that nine families who had got houses from that show, they had to give ’em up. Some folks even lost their homes to foreclosures. That’s a real sad thing to hear. But I reckon, it happens sometimes. You know, life don’t always turn out the way you expect, no matter how much you try.
Now, as for the Drumm family, I ain’t heard that they gave up their house or anything like that. Last I checked, they was still livin’ in it, but life sure ain’t the same as it was back when the cameras were rollin’. See, after all that excitement died down, things slowed back to normal. The family’s been tryin’ to make ends meet, like most folks do, but they’ve had their share of struggles. It ain’t easy, especially when you’ve been in the public eye and people expect ya to keep livin’ a dream. But, from what I hear, they still in the house, and I reckon they’re doing the best they can.
What I want to know is, what’s really happenin’ with them now? Are they happy? Are they still together? A lot of folks from them reality TV shows don’t always turn out the way you expect. I know a lotta people thought the Drumm’s life would be all sunshine and rainbows after that house makeover, but it’s just not that simple. Life’s tough, and even when folks try to help you, it’s still on you to make things work.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I ain’t sayin’ they ain’t grateful. I’m sure they appreciate that new house, and I bet they still think about that time when everything changed for ’em. It’s a beautiful thing when people come together like that, and I reckon that home will always mean something special to them. But, like I said, you gotta be able to handle what comes after. And life, well, life don’t always go as planned.
So, if you’re wonderin’ where the Drumm family is now, here’s what I know: they’re still around, still livin’, still doin’ what they can to make things work. Ain’t nobody’s life perfect, not even after a big ol’ makeover. But I sure hope they’re happy, and I sure hope they’re doin’ alright.
