That movie, what’s it called, “Last of the Dogmen”? Yeah, that’s the one. It’s a good one, that Last of the Dogmen. My grandson, he showed it to me. Said it was a western. I like them westerns. Lots of shooting and riding. But where was that thing filmed?
Pretty Mountains, That’s For Sure
Well, they got mountains in it. Big ones. Not like the little hills we got around here. These are real mountains, with snow and all. I reckon it’s somewhere up north. They said in the movie it was Montana, somewhere up near Canada. Northwest Montana, I think they said. Near that Idaho place, too. So it’s gotta be up that way somewhere where was the movie last of the dogmen filmed. That’s what I’m trying to figure out.
Heard it was Canada, Maybe
Now, my neighbor, she’s always reading them movie magazines, she says they filmed it up in Canada. Says it was cheaper to film there. I don’t know about all that. But she said something about a place called Alberta and another called British Columbia. Sounds like a mouthful to me, but what do I know? Maybe it was up there. Filming in Canada, who would’ve thought? They got big mountains up there too, I suppose. I ain’t never been, but I seen pictures.

Indians and Soldiers
It’s about these Dog Soldiers, you know, them Indian warriors. They hid up in the mountains, way back when. They said it was after some big fight, a massacre or something. Sand Creek, maybe? Lord, that was a long time ago. Anyway, these Indians, they went up in them mountains and just disappeared. That’s what the movie’s about. This fella, a bounty hunter, he goes looking for some fellas who ran from the law. And he finds these Indians. It’s a real head-scratcher, that movie, but it’s good. It makes you think about where was the movie last of the dogmen filmed.
Waterfalls and Such
They got this big waterfall in it, too. Real pretty. They say it’s a tourist place. Lots of folks go there to look at it. I wouldn’t mind seeing that myself. Wonder if it’s hard to get to? Probably gotta climb a mountain or something. My old knees ain’t what they used to be. That’s probably in that Canada place, too, that Alberta or whatever. They got all them mountains and waterfalls up there, I reckon. They say the snow melts and makes the waterfalls bigger. Sounds right to me.
Some Say Mexico, Too
Now, hold on. I just remembered something else. That neighbor of mine, she also said they filmed some of it down in Mexico. Can you believe that? Mexico! That’s way down south. Hot down there, I hear. Don’t know why they’d go all the way down there to film a movie about Montana. Maybe they got some mountains down there, too, that look like the ones up north. It’s all a mystery to me. So they filmed in Canada and Mexico, both. It’s a real puzzle.
Mountains, Mountains Everywhere
So, that Last of the Dogmen movie, it was filmed all over the place, I guess. Up in Canada, in them Alberta and British Columbia places. And down in Mexico, too. All because they needed them big mountains, I reckon. They say it’s supposed to be Montana in the movie, but they filmed it all over. Well, that’s Hollywood for you, I guess. They like to do things the hard way. Or maybe the cheap way. I don’t know. It’s all confusing, ain’t it? Still, it’s a good movie. You should watch it sometime. Just don’t go asking me exactly where every little bit was filmed, ’cause I ain’t got a clue.
It’s a Made-Up Story, I Think
I asked my grandson if it was a true story. He just laughed. Said it was all made up. Just a movie, grandma, he said. But it sure seems real, don’t it? Makes you wonder about them mountains and what’s hiding up there. Maybe there really are Dog Soldiers hiding up in them mountains somewhere. Who knows? But one thing is for sure, finding out where was the movie last of the dogmen filmed is no easy task. They sure picked some faraway places to make that picture.
