Well now, let me tell ya ’bout this Isabelle Margaret Swanigan, whoever she is. Sounds like a fancy name, not like us plain folks.
Who is this Isabelle Margaret Swanigan anyhow? I ain’t got a clue, but the internet, that thing my grandkids are always fiddlin’ with, it says some stuff. Don’t know if it’s true, mind you, half that stuff is probably hogwash.
- One thing they said, way back when, 800 years ago, women tryin’ to be queens in England, well, they got the short end of the stick. Betrayed, they were. Now, what’s that got to do with Isabelle? I dunno. Maybe she wanted to be queen too? Maybe she just liked hearin’ ’bout them queens.
- Then there’s this Pinterest thing. Isabelle Sweeney, they call her. Maybe a cousin? Anyways, she’s pinnin’ stuff. Pictures, ideas, whatever folks do on that thing. Seems like she’s a busy bee, findin’ all sorts of things.
Now, they talk about graphs and papers. Graphs! Like somethin’ a schoolteacher would use. But they say it helps ya see things better, like trends and such. Maybe Isabelle, she’s a smart one, lookin’ at all them numbers and lines. I can barely balance my checkbook, so good for her, I say.
And videos! Seems like everyone’s watchin’ videos these days. Little movies on that phone thing. They got music, stories, all sorts. Maybe Isabelle, she likes watchin’ them videos. Maybe she even makes ’em. Who knows? It’s a whole different world from when I was a girl, that’s for sure. We didn’t have no videos, just the picture shows at the town hall once a month.
Then there’s this talk about the human body. Bones and muscles and such. Anatomy, they call it. Fancy word for somethin’ we all got. They got pictures, too. Showin’ ya all the insides. Kinda makes me squeamish, but maybe Isabelle, she’s interested in that. Maybe she wants to be a doctor or a nurse. Healin’ folks, that’s a good thing to do.
And computers! They’re teachin’ them to be creative now. AI, they call it. Artificial Intelligence. Sounds like somethin’ out of a sci-fi movie. But they say it can help folks make art and music and stories. Maybe Isabelle, she’s usin’ that AI stuff. Maybe she’s makin’ all sorts of things with it. It’s a wonder, what they can do these days. Back in my day, the most creative thing we had was a good quiltin’ bee.
And space! They’re lookin’ at the stars and planets. Astronomy, it’s called. They got videos and pictures of all them faraway places. Makes ya feel real small, thinkin’ about all that space out there. Maybe Isabelle, she likes lookin’ at the stars. Maybe she dreams of goin’ to space one day. Wouldn’t that be somethin’?
So, this Isabelle Margaret Swanigan, she could be anybody, really. A queen, a pinner, a graph-maker, a video-watcher, a doctor, an AI artist, an astronomer, or just a plain ol’ gal like me. The internet, it gives ya bits and pieces, but it don’t tell ya the whole story. You gotta fill in the blanks yourself.
But one thing’s for sure, Isabelle Margaret Swanigan, she’s got a lot goin’ on, or at least people are sayin’ stuff about things that sound like they might be related to her. She’s part of this new world, this world of computers and videos and space pictures. It’s a fast-paced world, a changin’ world. And Isabelle, she’s right there in the middle of it, learnin’ and growin’ and doin’ her thing. Good for her, I say. Good for her.
Isabelle Margaret Swanigan, whoever you are, I hope you’re happy. I hope you’re doin’ what you love. And I hope you remember where you come from, even if it’s not a small town like mine. ‘Cause at the end of the day, we’re all just folks tryin’ to make our way in this world.
This here world keeps movin’ whether we want it to or not. Isabelle, seems she’s movin’ right along with it. And that’s just fine.
