Well, folks, let me tell you about a man called Dr. Glenn Blodgett. He wasn’t just any man, no sir. Born way back in 1948 in a little town called Perryton, Texas, Glenn grew up knowing the land, the animals, and especially them horses. You see, he didn’t just like horses, he loved them. And he knew how to take care of them too, like nobody else.

Now, Dr. Glenn, or “Doc” as many liked to call him, worked on a big ol’ ranch called the 6666 Ranch, over in Guthrie, Texas. That ranch is known far and wide, let me tell ya, and a big reason for that was ’cause of Doc’s work with the horses. He managed the whole horse division over there, taking care of hundreds of them like they were his own kids.
He knew them horses inside out, and folks came from all over to get his advice or ask for help. He was a pioneer in somethin’ called theriogenology. Now, I don’t know much about big fancy words like that, but I do know it means he was real smart about breeding horses and makin’ sure they stayed healthy and strong. That’s why folks respected him so much.
But Doc wasn’t just workin’ behind the scenes. No sir, he traveled around too, representin’ the American Quarter Horse Association. People from all over the country, even the world, knew who he was. He went around spreadin’ his knowledge, all while makin’ sure the horses got the best care.
Doc spent his whole life helpin’ horses, and you know, folks don’t forget someone like that. He’s even in the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame and the Texas Horse Racing Hall of Fame. Imagine that, a boy from Perryton, Texas, goin’ all the way to get honored like that. Musta made his family real proud.

So, that’s Dr. Glenn Blodgett for ya, a man who gave his whole life to takin’ care of them horses. He left this world in November of 2022, but the mark he made on the ranch, the horses, and the folks who knew him will stay forever.
