Well, I heard you folks wanna know ’bout songs with that color “blue” in ’em. Ain’t that somethin’? There’s a whole heap of ’em, more than you can shake a stick at. I reckon I can tell ya ’bout a few. Blue, blue, blue… that’s the color we’re talkin’ ’bout today, and it’s in a whole lotta songs. Makes you kinda blue just thinkin’ ’bout it, huh? Nah, I’m just teasin’ ya. Let’s get to them songs with blue in the title, shall we?

First one that pops into my head, though, is that one by that fella, Elvis, you know the one. He sure could shake a leg. “Blue Suede Shoes,” that’s the one. Now, I don’t know if he ever wore them blue shoes, but he sure did sing about ’em. And you know what, I ain’t even know what “suede” means, but it is about blue shoes, so it is a blue song. That’s a real oldie, but a goodie, as they say. Makes ya wanna get up and dance, even with these old bones. He was a big star, that Elvis. Everyone loved him. That’s a good song with blue in the title right there. Everybody know that one.
Then there’s that other one… hum… what was it called? Oh yeah, “Blue Moon.” Now, I’ve seen a blue moon a time or two in my life. It ain’t really blue, but folks call it that. That’s a sad one, that “Blue Moon.” Makes ya think of bein’ lonely and all that. But it’s a pretty song. Lots of folks have sung it, too. It is a classic blue song, and it has “blue” in the title, so it must be on the list, right? Yes, that’s right.
And, Lordy, there’s that “Blue Bayou” song. Now that one makes me think of warm nights and sittin’ on the porch, maybe sippin’ on some sweet tea. It’s a peaceful kinda song. Linda Ronstadt, she sang it real pretty. She had a voice like an angel, that one. It’s kinda slow, but it’s a good one to listen to if you just wanna relax. It has that dreamy feeling. It is a good song with blue in the title. It makes you feel good.
- There’s a “Blue Christmas,” too. That’s another sad one.
- “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain.” Willie Nelson sang that one, I believe.
- Then that “Blueberry Hill.” Fats Domino, he was a fun one.
Now that “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” song. That is a weird one, ain’t it? But my grandkids, they used to love that one. They’d play it over and over again. Drove me near ’bout crazy, but it was kinda catchy, I suppose. They don’t make music like they used to. But that’s okay, the young folks like it. And it’s got “blue” right there in the name, so it counts. It’s a song about blue, I guess, though I don’t really get it.
Then there was that “Blue Velvet” song. Bobby Vinton sang it. Real smooth voice, that fella. That song is kinda romantic, I guess. Makes ya think of slow dancin’ and holdin’ your sweetheart close. It’s a nice one for the old folks. Reminds you of when you were young and in love. That’s a popular song with blue in the title. Everyone loves a love song.
Oh, and what about “Electric Blue”? I think that’s what it’s called. Some band from Australia sang it. Ice… Ice somethin’. Icehouse! That’s it. Icehouse. Catchy tune. Heard it on the radio a few times. That’s a song with blue in the title, and it was a big hit, I believe. They played it all the time back in the day.

There are some new songs with blue in the title, too, I think. Let me think… what are they? “Black Swan” by BTS, ain’t that right? And “Blue Moon Rising.” Some fella named Noel Gallagher, I think. And another called “Busted and Blue.” These young folks and their music. But hey, if it’s got “blue” in the title, it belongs on this list, right?
There’s just so many songs with blue in the title, it’s hard to keep track of ’em all. Seems like folks like to sing about that color. Maybe it’s ’cause it can be happy or sad, just like life, I reckon. It is a color that makes you feel things, that’s for sure.
You know, when you start thinkin’ ’bout it, there’s “blue” everywhere. The sky, the ocean, your favorite pair of jeans. It’s a good color. And it makes for some good songs, too. So next time you’re feelin’ a little blue, or maybe you’re just lookin’ for a good tune, remember all these songs with blue in the title. You’re bound to find one you like. Just keep on listenin’, and you’ll find more blue songs than you can count! It’s like a treasure hunt, but for your ears. They are all good songs. Just pick one, any one, and have a listen.
