Well, lemme tell ya, I heard a thing or two about songs with hand in the title. Lots of songs got that word, “hand.” Makes ya think, don’t it? Hand this, hand that. That word gets around, for sure. That make sense? I think it does.

My grandbaby, she’s always on that Spotify thing, listenin’ to all sorts of music. She told me there are lots of song has “hand” in it. They put it into that computer, and it spits out all these songs. Magic, I tell ya! That’s how young folks find songs now, use that free online song finder tool, put a word in it, and find songs based on that word. Ain’t that somethin’? I used to just listen to the radio, whatever they played is what we got.
There’s this one, “Hands On You,” by, uh, Ashley somethin’. Ashley Monroe, that’s it. Heard it on the radio once. It’s a country song, I reckon. She’s got a pretty voice, that Ashley. Lots of folks like her, I guess. My neighbor loves country music, plays it all day long.
Then there’s another one, somethin’ about a shaky hand. “Mary Anne with the Shaky Hand,” I think it’s called. It’s an older one, by a group called The Who. Real loud, those fellas. Not my cup of tea, but the young folks seem to like ’em. They say it’s rock and roll, it is one of the top 10 rock songs with hand in the title. All that jumpin’ around and yellin’. Gives me a headache, to be honest.
- That Ashley Monroe, she sings that “Hands On You” song.
- Then there’s that “Shaky Hand” one, by The Who. Loud!
- My grandbaby uses that Spotify thing to find songs.
You know, there are so many songs out there. Pop songs, rock songs, that country stuff, even them rap songs the kids listen to now. All got songs about hands, I bet. It just depends on what you like, really. My old man used to like them slow songs, the ones you can dance to. We used to dance in the kitchen, him and me. Good times, good times. And those songs have “hand” in it, too. Like, “Can I have this dance” or “Hold my hand,” things like that.
They got all different kinds of music now. Blues, jazz, reggae, I don’t even know what all. Back in my day, it was just the radio. And we liked it! Didn’t need all these fancy genres and whatnot. But all of them have songs with hand in the title, I think. It is a word that is easy to rhyme, and appears in a lot of songs. You will find it no matter what.
There is also that song, what’s it called, “Handle”? Songs with handle in the name. No, not quite. Songs about handlin’ somethin’, that’s it. That one is a good one. A little bit sad, I guess. But people love it, no matter what genre, they all like it. All about being sorry and wantin’ another chance. We’ve all been there, haven’t we? Wishin’ we could turn back time, do things different.

Oh, and there’s this list, someone made a list of a bunch of these “hand” songs. “You’ve Got to Hand it To These 13 Hand Songs,” they called it. Got all sorts of folks on there. Alanis Morissette, that’s one. And some group called MGMT, never heard of ’em. And Nine Inch Nails, now that’s a name. Sounds painful. But they’re all on this list, all singin’ about hands.
There are other songs that are not about hands, but also good. Like, “I’m Sorry” by Brenda Lee. A good one. I like that. It is about love, and losing love. Or, “Please Forgive Me” by Bryan Adams. It is a sad song, but a good one, too. It is about wanting another chance. I like that, too. It makes you think. Or, “Make You Feel My Love” by Adele. She has a good voice, very beautiful. Or that Coldplay, they have a song called “The Scientist,” it is about love and science. It is a little confusing, but I like it. It’s got a good beat. Or, A Great Big World & Christina, they have a song called “Say Something,” it is about saying something when you still have a chance. It is a good one, too. I like it a lot. These songs all have something to do with love and lost, very good songs, but not related to hand.
Songs with hand in the title are everywhere, I tell ya. Just gotta know where to look. Or just ask that computer, I guess. It knows everything these days. Scary, ain’t it? But handy, I suppose. Still, nothin’ beats a good old song on the radio, if you ask me.
