Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Christi Marie Zabel. Don’t rightly know her myself, but I heard some things. Born way back in 1957, July 18th, they say, over in Tulsa County. Oklahoma, that is.
Now, her folks, they was Larry and Sharon Zabel. Larry, he was one of them Western artists, you know, paintin’ cowboys and such. Guess that’s where Christi got her love for paintin’. Yup, she loved paintin’ just like her daddy. And her family too, she loved them a whole bunch.

They say she was a smart one, too. Always gettin’ straight A’s in school. Imagine that! A real whiz kid, that Christi.
This girl, she grew up and got herself hitched to a fella named Johnny Rivers. Don’t know much about him, but they was married, that’s for sure. Life’s funny like that, ain’t it? You meet someone, get hitched, and then… well, things happen.
Now, here’s the sad part. Christi, she up and passed away on August 17th, 2008. Don’t know what took her, but it was too soon, that’s for sure. They also called her Christi Marie Fisher, so maybe she got married again, who knows? Folks call her by different names sometimes.
She was Leonard Hanning’s daughter too I heard. Lots of names and dates to remember, makes an old lady’s head spin. But the important thing is, she lived a life, had her passions, loved her family. That’s what matters, don’t it?
I reckon she painted some purdy pictures, bein’ the daughter of a Western artist and all. Woulda liked to see ’em myself. Prob’ly had horses and cowboys and big ol’ skies. The kind of stuff that makes you feel somethin’.
Folks say you can find out more about her if you go lookin’ in them birth and death records, and census stuff too. But I ain’t got time for that. I got my own life to live, you know? But I figured I’d tell you what I heard about Christi Marie Zabel. She sounded like a good woman, a talented woman. Gone too soon, like so many others.
It’s a shame she ain’t around no more. But that’s life, I guess. Comes and goes like the wind. You just gotta hold on tight to the good times and remember the folks you loved. And from what I hear, Christi Marie Zabel, she had plenty of both.
