Well, let me tell ya about this “Blue Eye Samurai” thing. Folks are makin’ a big fuss about it, so I figured I’d see what all the hullabaloo was about. Now, I ain’t no fancy city slicker, so I’ll just tell ya like it is.

First off, this thing’s pretty as a picture. Real purdy colors and the way them folks move, it’s somethin’ else. They call it “animation,” I guess that means it ain’t real people, but it sure looks real enough to me. Real smooth and easy on the eyes, not like them jerky cartoons they used to show.
Now, the story, that’s where it gets ya. It’s about this gal, Mizu, and she’s got these blue eyes, see? That’s kinda the whole point, I reckon. She’s got a bone to pick with some folks, and she ain’t gonna let nothin’ stop her. She’s tough as nails, that Mizu. Reminds me of my ol’ Aunt Bessie, stubborn as a mule and twice as mean when riled up.
- Mizu’s on a mission, and it’s a bloody one. Lots of fightin’ and swordplay. Some folks might not like that, but it’s part of the story, ain’t it?
- And it ain’t just mindless hackin’ and slashin’ neither. There’s a reason for all the fuss, a real deep-down hurt that’s drivin’ Mizu. You can see it in her eyes, even if they are just drawn on.
- Plus, she meets all sorts of folks along the way, some good, some bad, and some just plain strange. It’s like life, I tell ya. You never know who you’re gonna run into.
This “Blue Eye Samurai” ain’t just about fightin’, though. It’s about more than that. It’s about fittin’ in, or not fittin’ in, I guess. Mizu, she’s different, see? And folks don’t always take kindly to different. They try to put you in a box, tell you what you can and can’t do. But Mizu, she ain’t havin’ none of that. She’s gonna be who she’s gonna be, no matter what anyone says. That’s somethin’ I can get behind.
They say lots of folks are watchin’ this show. Millions, apparently. Well, I ain’t surprised. It’s got that somethin’ special, that thing that keeps you glued to the screen, even when you know you oughta be gettin’ supper ready or tendin’ to the chickens. It’s excitin’, and it makes you think, and it makes you feel. That’s what a good story does, ain’t it?
Now, I heard some folks talkin’ about a second season. Well, I sure hope they make one. I wanna see what Mizu does next, see if she finally gets what she’s after. And I wanna see more of them purdy pictures and hear more of that fancy talkin’. It’s a whole ‘nother world, that “Blue Eye Samurai” world, and I wouldn’t mind spendin’ a little more time there.
Overall, I’d say this here “Blue Eye Samurai” is worth watchin’. It ain’t perfect, mind you, nothin’ ever is. But it’s got heart, and it’s got guts, and it’s got a story that’ll stick with ya long after you’ve finished watchin’. So go on, give it a try. You might just find yourself surprised by how much you like it. Even an old woman like me can appreciate a good tale, and this here is a good tale, I tell ya.

And let me tell you, that Mizu gal, she’s somethin’ else. Fierce and determined, she reminds me of a wildcat cornered in a barn. You don’t want to mess with her, that’s for sure. But beneath all that toughness, there’s somethin’ else, somethin’ sad and lonely. Makes you wonder what makes a person that way.
The whole thing is just…well, it’s just good. Plain and simple. It’s got action and adventure, but it’s also got heart. And that’s what makes it special, I reckon. It ain’t just some silly cartoon, it’s a story about people, and about life, and about fightin’ for what you believe in.
