Okay, so the other day I was staring at the night sky, and it got me thinking about how many songs are actually about stars. I decided to go down a rabbit hole and see what I could find, and, well, it turned into a whole thing. Here’s how it went.

The Brainstorm
First, I just sat down with a pen and paper – yeah, I’m old school like that – and started jotting down every song I could think of that mentioned stars, even vaguely. “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” was obviously the first one, followed by some other childhood favorites.
Then, I started remembering some of my favorite songs that I know have references to stars and the sky. That opened up a whole bunch more, and I added those to the list.
The Deep Dive
After I had my initial list, I moved over to my computer. I needed to find the exact titles and artists for some, to make sure I got ’em right.
Then, I started using the internet to see what other folks had come up with. I typed in simple stuff like “songs about stars” and “songs with star in the title,” you know, the basic stuff. Wow, there were way more than I originally imagined!
Getting Organized
After doing that for a while, I had a HUGE list. Way too big to just leave as a random mess. So, I opened up a new document and started sorting the songs.
- I made a section for songs where “star” was actually in the title.
- Then, I made another section for songs that just mentioned stars in the lyrics.
- I decided to also put the artist name.
It took a while, but it felt good to get it all organized. It’s not perfect, I’m sure I missed a ton, but it’s a pretty good start!
