Okay, so today I messed around with something totally new – making a “songs for ghosts” playlist. It sounds kinda spooky, right? But it was actually super fun and chill.

Brainstorming and Gathering
First, I grabbed a notebook and jotted down anything that came to mind when I thought “ghosts.” Think floaty, ethereal, maybe a little sad, but also peaceful. I ended up with words like “echo,” “mist,” “memory,” “whisper,” and “moonlight.”
Then, I started digging through my music library. I listened to a bunch of different stuff, mostly ambient, classical, and some folk tunes. Anything that felt like it could be a soundtrack for a ghost wandering through an old house, you know?
The Selection Process
- I picked out songs with lots of reverb and delay. That echoey sound really gives it that “haunted” vibe.
- I focused on instrumentals or songs with very minimal vocals. Voices can be too… present, I guess? Ghosts are more about the feeling.
- I looked for slower tempos. Nothing too upbeat or energetic. Ghosts are chill, they’re not throwing a party.
- I did try to add some variation in the song and kept my ears open.
Putting It All Together
After I had a good collection, I threw them all into a new playlist. I spent some time just listening and rearranging the order. It’s all about the flow, right? You want it to build that atmosphere and then gently fade away.
Honestly, the whole process was surprisingly relaxing. I felt to make some changes in order to improve it more, but I was running short of time. It’s like creating a little world with sound. I definitely recommend trying it if you’re into that kind of vibe. It’s a fun way to explore music and get creative, I’ll try to explore more music and keep my ears open.
