You know what? These days, I see lots of folks glued to that TV box. And you won’t believe what they’re watching! Shows about them… them psychologists! Yeah, them head doctors. I hear it’s all the rage. My granddaughter, she’s always going on about them, so I got curious. What’s so darn interesting about these psychologist TV shows, I thought?

Well, I started watching some myself. Just to see what all the fuss is about. And let me tell ya, some of them are a real hoot! Others, they’re kinda spooky. Like that “Secret Obsession” thing. Gives me the willies! And one called “In the tall grass”. Lord, that one was weird. What is wrong with these people, going into some tall grass like that? They never heard of snakes? Or ticks?
Then there’s one called “The Platform”. Oh boy, that’s a strange one. Makes you think, it does. And “Dear Child”… well, that’s just sad. But, you know, it keeps you watching. You gotta find out what happens to that poor child. These psychologist TV shows, they sure know how to hook you in.
My granddaughter, she likes that “Dark” show. Too confusing for me. All that time travel stuff. Gives me a headache just thinking about it. And that “The Woods” one, it’s okay. But a bit slow for my taste. I like things a bit more… lively, you know? Like that show about Sara, “Who Killed Sara?”. Now that’s a good one! Keeps you guessing till the very end. What a good psychologist TV show.

- The Platform
- Dear Child
- Dark
- The Woods
- Who Killed Sara?
- The Chestnut Man
- The Girl on the Train
Then there is this one with a big movie star, what’s his name, that iron man. Robert something. Plays a whole bunch of people, like four or five people in one show. That is something, let me tell you. And he is good, really good. He made the show, people say. Represents some white something, not sure what that is, but people are talking.
Oh, and that “Chestnut Man” show. Creepy! But good, you know? If you like that sort of thing. And “The Girl on the Train”… that’s a real head-scratcher. Makes you wonder about people, it does. I guess some people just like watching the drama. That’s what my granddaughter says. She says these psychologist TV shows, they help you understand people better. Maybe she’s right.
There’s also this show called “Couples Therapy.” It’s about a psychologist, Orna Guralnik, and she talks to couples who are having problems. Real people, mind you, not actors. You wouldn’t believe the things they say to each other! Sometimes I just wanna reach into that TV and shake some sense into them. But, you know, it’s interesting to see how that psychologist lady helps them. She’s a smart one, that Orna.

And that “Greta” show… Don’t even get me started on that one. Just plain weird. And “Zodiac”… Well, that’s an old one, but it’s still good. A real classic, they say. Then there’s “Premonition” and “The Call”. Those are okay. Nothing special, but they’ll pass the time.
Then you got your “Godless” and your “Midnight Mass”. Those are a bit… religious, you know? Not my cup of tea, but some folks like them. And “Stay Close”… That one’s got a lot of secrets. Keeps you on the edge of your seat. “Maniac” and “Alias Grace”… Those are a bit strange, too. But, you know, different strokes for different folks, as they say.
- Greta
- Zodiac
- Premonition
- The Call
- Godless
- Midnight Mass
- Stay Close
- Maniac
- Alias Grace
Let’s see, what else. There is “Mare of Easttown”. Oh, that Kate Winslet, she sure can act. And “Yellowjackets”… boy, that one’s a wild ride. A bunch of girls, their plane crashes, and then… well, you just gotta see it for yourself. Then there’s “Black Mirror”. That one’s kinda like “The Twilight Zone”, if you remember that one. Each episode is a different story. Some of them are pretty out there. These psychologist TV shows are something, I tell you.
And “LOST”… Well, that one’s a classic, too. A bunch of people stranded on an island. Lots of mysteries and secrets. Kept me guessing for years, that one did. “Stranger Things”… That’s a fun one. Kids and monsters and all that. My granddaughter loves it. And “The Last of Us”… That’s about a, well a sickness, and how people survive. It’s a bit scary, but it’s good.
Then there’s “Haunting of Hill House”. Gave me nightmares, that one did! A big spooky house and a family with a lot of problems. “The Sinner”… That one’s about a woman who does something terrible, and they gotta figure out why. And “White Lotus”… That’s about a bunch of rich folks on vacation. Lots of drama and backstabbing. These rich folks sure have a lot of problems, let me tell ya.
- Mare of Easttown
- Yellowjackets
- Black Mirror
- LOST
- Stranger Things
- The Last of Us
- Haunting of Hill House
- The Sinner
- White Lotus
“The Undoing” and “Sharp Objects”, more drama. That Nicole Kidman, she is in a lot of these shows. And Amy Adams, too. They sure like to play these troubled characters. Then that “Black Bird” show, about a jail or something. “Mindhunter” that is a good one, talks about catching those bad guys. Really bad guys, killing people and all that. They got these psychologists helping them catch them. That is some good psychologist TV show right there, that “Mindhunter”.

So, yeah, there’s a lot of these psychologist TV shows out there. Some good, some bad, some just plain weird. But, you know, they keep you watching. And maybe, just maybe, they teach you a little something about people, too. Or at least, that’s what my granddaughter says. And she’s a smart girl, so maybe she’s right.
