Alright, so you wanna know about movies like that Trainspotting, huh? That movie, oh boy, it was somethin’ else. Lots of… stuff goin’ on in it, if you catch my drift. Not for the faint of heart, that’s for sure. But if you liked it, I guess you got a strong stomach, or maybe you just like watchin’ other folks’ messes. Either way, I ain’t judgin’.
Now, findin’ movies just like it, that’s a bit tricky. Ain’t nothin’ exactly like it, ya know? But there’s some that come close, movies that make you feel… things. Movies that are fast and jumpy, like you drank too much coffee. They call it “stylized” and “frenetic,” them fancy folks do.
- One movie they talk about is Run Lola Run. Never seen it myself, but they say it’s speedy, you know, like everything’s happenin’ real fast.
- Then there’s 2 Days in the Valley. Sounds like a soap opera to me, but I heard it’s got that same kinda wild energy.
- And Rules of Attraction, whatever that means. Probably about young folks and their… problems. You know how they are.
- Oh, and Enter the Void. That one sounds spooky. Maybe it’s about ghosts or somethin’. I don’t know.
Then there’s the sad ones, the ones that make you wanna cry. Like that Candy movie. Heard it’s about… well, I don’t rightly know what it’s about, but it’s supposed to be a drama, so you know it ain’t gonna be happy-go-lucky. Movies that make you feel all sorts of things, happy, sad, angry, all mixed up like a stew. Those are the ones you’re lookin’ for, right? If you wanna go deep, real deep, like lookin’ into a dark well, they say you should watch Requiem for a Dream. Now, that one I heard is REAL intense. Not for the weak, I tell ya.
Some folks made a list, fourteen movies they say are like Trainspotting. They even made another Trainspotting movie, called T2 Trainspotting. Guess they couldn’t get enough of that… stuff. And there’s somethin’ called Human Traffic. Sounds like a mess, if you ask me. But hey, if you liked Trainspotting, you probably like messes.
Trainspotting itself, well, it’s about… bad habits, let’s say. Drinkin’ and drugs and whatnot. Not for kids, that’s for sure. They show folks doin’ things they shouldn’t be doin’, and it ain’t pretty. So, if you’re lookin’ for movies like that, you’re lookin’ for movies about real life, the messy parts, the parts people don’t like to talk about. Movies with folks makin’ bad choices and payin’ the price. You wanna see people struggle, people mess up, people gettin’ high and then comin’ down hard. That’s what Trainspotting is all about, and if you want more of that, well, those other movies I mentioned, they might just scratch that itch.
But remember, these movies ain’t for everyone. They’re gritty and real, and they don’t pull any punches. If you want somethin’ light and fluffy, go watch a cartoon. But if you want somethin’ that’ll stick with you, somethin’ that’ll make you think, then maybe these movies are for you. Just don’t say I didn’t warn ya.
And one last thing, I heard there are a lot of movies with trains in ’em. Don’t know why, but they’re everywhere. Maybe people just like trains. Or maybe it’s somethin’ else. Who knows? But if you’re lookin’ for movies like Trainspotting, I don’t think trains is what you’re after. You’re after somethin’… darker, somethin’ more real. Am I right? Well, I guess you’ll figure it out. Just be careful what you watch, you hear? Some things, you can’t unsee.
