Okay, so I’ve been meaning to put together a list of my favorite Christian bands for a while now, and I finally got around to it. It’s tougher than you might think! There are so many good ones out there, spanning tons of different genres. So, here’s how I went about building my “best of” list.
First Step: Brain Dump!
I started by just listing every Christian band I could think of, off the top of my head. Old favorites, newer discoveries, ones I’d heard mentioned but hadn’t really listened to… everything went down on paper. It was a mess, honestly, a total jumble of names.
Next: Genre Sorting
Once I had my giant list, I realized I needed some way to organize it. My taste in music is all over the place, so I decided to sort by genre. This made things a little easier to manage. I created some basic categories like:
- Rock/Alternative:
- Worship:
- Pop:
- Metal/Hardcore:
- Indie/Folk:
I’m sure I missed some genres, it’s my list.
The Hard Part: Narrowing it Down
This is where things got tricky. I had to start making some tough choices. I listened to a bunch of my old favorites, revisited some albums, and even checked out a few new bands that people had recommended. I spent, like, a whole weekend just immersed in music.
Finally made it
