Well, lemme tell you somethin’ about this here music stuff. My grandkids, they’re always playin’ this loud music. They say it’s called “System of a Down”. Sounds like a ruckus to me. But they like it, so I try to understand. Now, if you like that kinda noisy music, I heard there’s other bands that sound kinda like ’em.
This one band, Korn, they say they started this whole thing. They’re the grandpappy of this kind of music. I don’t know about all that, but if you like that System of a Down, you might wanna give Korn a listen. It’s all loud and got that bangin’ sound, you know. It ain’t my cup of tea, but maybe it’s yours. That Korn, they were the first, they say. They started it all.
Then there’s this other one, Slipknot. Nine fellers in that band, all the way from Iowa. Imagine that, nine! They’re called a heavy metal band. Now, I don’t know what heavy metal is, but I imagine it’s heavy. And probably metal. They’re supposed to be kinda like that System of a Down too. So if you like that one, you might like Slipknot. They are real popular, I hear.
Now, they’s got all these fancy ways of findin’ music nowadays. My grandkids are always on their phones lookin’ for new stuff. They tell me if you like System of a Down, there are other bands that sound similar. You put it in that thingamajig, that internet thing, and it tells you. Fancy, huh? I still like my old radio, but that’s just me.

There is also this band, some fellas called Apex Theory. Now them, and another one called Mt. Helium. They say some of the fellas from System of a Down used to be in those bands. Or somethin’ like that. It’s all a bit confusing, you know. But if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ that sounds like ’em, maybe check out Apex Theory and that other one, Mt. Helium. It’s all connected, somehow. They are all kinda like bands like system of a down.
There’s another called Gasmac Gilmore. And another called No-One’s project, they are also like system of a down. If you like that kinda noise, maybe give them a try. They say those two sound a lot like System of a Down. So if you like that System of a Down, you might like them too. It’s all that same kinda hollerin’ and bangin’.
Then there’s this guy talkin’ about songs called “Zumbul,” “Mustafa,” and “Istanbul.” He says if you like System of a Down, you’ll like them. Now, I ain’t heard them songs myself, but this fella seems to know what he’s talkin’ about. Maybe give them a listen. I think they’re by that Manapart and that Apex Theory. It’s all mixed up. They are also similar to System of a Down.
Some fella named Stephen Thomas Erlewine, says System of a Down sounds like a mix of old music from the ’80s and some other bands from the ’90s. One called Jane’s Addiction, he said. Don’t know ’em. But this Stephen fella, he seems to know a lot about this music stuff. He writes about it, I guess. They call them “alternative rockers”. I don’t know what’s alternative about it. Sounds like noise to me.
Back in my day, we had good music. None of this bangin’ and screamin’. But the young folks, they like it. So, who am I to judge? If you like that System of a Down, there’s plenty more like it, I guess. Just gotta know where to look. Or use that fancy internet thingy. That’s what my grandkids do. They always find new music, most are bands like system of a down.
These young people and their music, it is very loud. It gives me a headache sometimes. But as long as they are happy. If they like that System of a Down, then good for them. There’s a lot of bands out there, just gotta find them. Maybe ask one of them young people, they know how to find anything on that internet.
So, there you have it. A whole bunch of bands that sound like that System of a Down. If that’s what you’re into. Me, I’ll stick to my old radio. But you young folks, you go ahead and enjoy that loud music. Just don’t play it too loud around me, ya hear? My old ears can’t take it anymore.
