Okay, so I’ve been on this huge The Killers kick lately, right? But sometimes you just need something slightly different, you know? So I decided I was gonna find some bands that give off that same vibe. I figured, I’m not the only one, so I would just share my experience.

First, I fired up my computer. I wanted to use a few sources to get the best picture. I opened a new browser window…or maybe two..or three…
My Deep Dive Search Process
I started out simple. I just typed “bands like The Killers” into the search bar. I scrolled through a bunch of articles that popped up. I skimmed a few, but most were, eh, not super helpful.
So, plan B. I went to some music streaming service.I searched for “The Killers.” Then, I looked for a “related artists” or “fans also like” section. Usually, I found out lots of similiar bands.
I also jumped over to some online music forums. You know, the kind where people are always arguing about which band is better? I figured those folks would have some strong opinions. I typed in a quick search, something like “If I like The Killers, what else…” and boom! Tons of threads.
My Notes
- Started taking notes. Nothing fancy, just a quick list on my phone.
- Jotting down band names as I went.
- If I saw a band mentioned multiple times, I put a little star next to it. That’s how I knew it was probably worth checking out.
Then, the real work began. I started listening! I’d pick a band from my list, find a few of their top songs.I was just trying to get a feel for their sound. Did it have that same kind of energy? Did the vocals remind me of Brandon Flowers at all?
Some bands were a definite “no.” Some were interesting, but not quite what I was looking for. And then, there were a few that clicked. I added those to a new * I can listen anytime I want!

It was a bit of a process, honestly. A lot of searching, a lot of listening. But, it was kind of fun, too! It’s always cool to discover new music.I hope someone wants to find similar bands of “the killers” and this process could be useful!
