Okay, so, I’ve been meaning to get into ski movies lately, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the ride. I started off by just Googling around, you know, the usual “best ski movies” kind of search. I found a bunch of lists, but a lot of them pointed me to places like YouTube or some other spots where you can watch stuff for free. Others, well, they needed me to sign up for some paid streaming thing, which I wasn’t too thrilled about.

But then I stumbled upon this site called Red Bull TV. Man, it’s got tons of action sports movies, and guess what? Most of them are free! I dove right in and started watching anything that caught my eye. Faction’s movie was pretty cool. Then there were all these other ones I checked out, each one with its own vibe.
- Red Bull TV.
- Faction.
- Teton Gravity Research’s Rogue Elements.
- Sherpas Cinema’s Into the Mind.
I also heard about this thing called “Matchstick Productions Vault.” Apparently, you just sign up on their website, and bam, you’ve got access to a whole load of ski films. That’s definitely going on my list. And get this, if you’re an Outside+ member, you can dig into the Warren Miller film archive on the SKI website. They’ve got movies going all the way back to 1961! That’s some serious history right there. I tried to connect my laptop to my TV with an HDMI cable, and it worked like a charm. Now I can watch all these ski movies on the big screen.
A Friend’s Recommendation
Oh, and I almost forgot! A buddy of mine told me about this movie called “Ski Movie II High Society.” He said it’s a classic. I looked it up, and it turns out you can stream it online. There are a couple of rental options too, so I might just go with one of those.
The whole process has been a blast. I went from not knowing where to start to having a whole list of movies to watch. And it’s not just about the skiing, you know? Some of these movies have amazing stories about the people behind the scenes, their struggles, and all that. It’s pretty inspiring stuff. I’m really getting into this whole ski movie thing, and I can’t wait to see what other gems I can find. I even learned that snowboarder Kevin Pearce suffers a traumatic brain injury while training for the 2010 Winter Olympics. His family stands by his side as he struggles through rehab, from a movie!
